That black car is one of the ugliest cars in the universe. There is a complete lack of cohesion in that front end. I have never seen the back end, and really can't comment, but seriously that has to be the most overstyled vehicle since the earlier model hyundai coupe. See picture below, and imagine it in black. The big difference being that the hyundai has no engine to speak of, and if that ugly black vehicle is anywhere near as fast as you claim it is then you can probably justify owning such an ugly car.

what in the hell are you talking about kid? the extra weight really holds them back?LS1s have horrible traction problems on street tires even when they are stock so even if i gave you a 100lbs more weight on the a4 technically it would make it better off than the m6 so you must be high and secondly, there is a huge difference between a LT1 and a LS1 but im sure you knew that. Is there not another sain or competent person on this forum? Have you ever thought that 60% of the people you race arnt really racing you, most kids let off when you start pulling on them. Im not saying you didnt beat a LS1 but in a flat out race it wouldnt be by 6 car lengths if at all.

Your "High" I was not weighing in on the a4 vs m6 issue at all!
LT1/LS1 difference I know that well, but they are similar in that I spank them both! You should be more competent in your reading comprehension
Aren't really racing?? What? We planed it, stopped and lined up on the highway, honked and went. That is a race.
As far as "letting off" He didn't till i tapped my breaks. I talked to him for like an hour after the race.

I don't get what the big deal is. The guy said he won a race against some other person in their car. Why does everyone get so pissed and jump to defend their car everytime? I don't give a **** whenever someone says they beat an FC or Celica since it's always a possibility. Why does it always have to be "He wasn't really racing you"? Were you there? No. Can any car lose with a shitty driver? Yes. Now if someone comes on here and says that they beat YOU in YOUR car and it's not true then feel free to jump in and defend yourself, but don't try and defend a race that you never even saw.

ummm... this story isn't hard to believe at all guys. Do the math:

Power(flywheel)/weight

Camaro SS: 325hp/3400lb = .095588
FD: 300lb/2800lb = .10714

Answer: FD wins

And 300 hp (at the flywheel) is really conservative given his mods.

And I have pulled on a WS6 with similar mods as montego.

Don't get me wrong, F-bodies can be beasts in a straight line, but this story isn't hard to believe.

my only experience with an SS was at the track. i ran against a guy who had his car hooked up to a laptop all through the lineup, i assume tweaking numbers. His time was 13secs even and he was really happy about it.
So to me montego's story is believable, especially if it was just a stock SS.

So you are saying a 300whp/240rwtq rx7 wont outrun a simple bolt-on Ls1 car?(Heads and Cams are boltons) Be it vette, transam, or camaro. I know you guys dont like to lose because we dont either but dont you think your butt is getting a little sore over a small race like this. No one knows the mods on teh SS and yes if the guy was spraying a 100 shot or larger it would probably change things but you guys are getting a little to upset on something that most likely happened. I have owned a number of fds and had a few encounters with LT-1s and the all mighty ELLESSJUAN and I have only lost to a lt-1. Does this mean my rx7s are faster than all LS1 cars? Nope, but they were faster than the LS1 cars I raced. Basically stop trying to call bs on a true story. I lost to a LT-1 and I can admit it.

Heads and Cams are NOT bolt-ons, they are internals. Regarding the kill story, it's quite possible it actually happened. I don't care if some random LS1 loses, but you gotta admit 80% of the kill stories on this forum are bs. Like I said, if the FD is putting down some major numbers, I don't see why it shouldn''t be able to can take an SS.

well i had some nice long links for statistics on rx7 vs ls1 but the page stop responding so you get the short hand version. a stock rx7 has 255hp at 7 THOUSAND rpm at the flywheel. a stock ls1 has 310hp @ 5200rpm AT THE WHEELS not flywheel buddy, with a max of 325/330hp. at the same time a ls1 has 340 ft-lb of trq at 4000 rpm whereas you have what 210? ls1 stats seen here http://autos.msn.com/research/vip/Sp...IP&tab=2&sub=0.

so there are the true facts. you wont get much out of them because you obviously dont really care, but any1 with a open mind take them for what you will.

oh btw lets redo the math here:
255/2800=0.0910714 (ill even let you keep the flywheel hp)
325/3400=0.0955882

My friend's stock WS6 dynoed right at 300whp, which sounds about right considering they had a factory rating of 325bhp (yay for GM underrating, lol Mazda needs to do this). From what he told me you can expect anywhere from 290whp-305whp in a stock LS1 Fbody, but even if he is wrong and the engines are stronger than that it doesn't make much of a difference:

The FD in this story is modded and the SS was probably stock.

With your number of 310whp and a weight of 3400 lb, it would only take 255whp in an fd to equal the power to weight ratio of an SS. The FD we are talking about here should be a good deal above that.
