Lotus Elise vs My 1st Gen Blow Through
I dont do this very often but my heart was pounding and I just couldnt resist. This guy in my community has a yellow Lotus Elise. Just as I exit my community there's 1.5 miles of 2 lane 2 way back road. There was a jeep behind me, and he was behind it.
As soon as we hit the road he took off into the opposing lane to blow past the jeep... and me... but guess what... I was sitting right in my sweet spot in 3rd and floored it. He droped behind me and by the time we hit the stop sign at the end of the stretch he was at least 4 car lengths behind. My wife said maybe he wasn't trying but at the stop sign he started reving his engine.
We both made lefts and he was on my butt... so I took off again lost traction in second but from there on about a mile till the light I pulled about 3-4 lengths again. Now I knew he wanted to play so I took off and really demolished him at about a 3 mile length to the next light. To the right was a deserted back road I hit my turn signal and made the turn... He went straight
I felt good when I beat a new Civic SI, and the RSX... but wow man how he must have felt 50K$ against my 1985 Rx-7 PLAYED . I had no Idea what a fresh blowthrough SP 12A on 10psi boost would crank out. Never been to the track or DYNO but I'm going soon...

Thanks rotorican!
When you have got 3 12A's around doesnt make sense to buy a 13B.
This was my 1st time rebuilding a rotary, 1st time building a blow through with Rotary Shacks guidance, and 1st time driving a turbo car so it has definately been a learning experience and a great one.
I plan on getting another FB and doing a complete TII swap on it... this carb stuff just aint cutting it....

Savanna Rx-7
good kill though as they are not slow, and 0~100 are actaully quite quick.

yeah, didn't mean to diminish the kill. good accomplishment
i just respect lotus a lot. to me, they are like the luxury division of mazda. the major emphasis is handling, which to me is a more difficult engineering problem than power. respect.
