Pro driver in an Elise on the track
This is not a new video, but a lot people haven't seen it. This is Cort Wagner borrowing someone's Elise for a few laps.

Yep, that's me in the passenger seat (praying we don't go into a wall). If people thought the FD was like a gokart, then the Elise is a gokart! I couldn't imagine driving one on normal streets, but for a track car it is damn fun.
I had this particular student for about 3 track events. By the last one, he was running down most of the pack without too much of a problem. That tiny engine is just fine for that car since it doesn't weigh anything.
I'd love to slap some r-compound on one of those and see what it could do.

In went for a ridealong with a friend with his Elise - has the sport package
Fabulous car. Quick and very responsive...I just wish I could drive one to see for myself
The car could hang with, and be faster than most, anything in the corners but at around 110 the powerful cars (RX7's P-cars, Vettes) would walk away on the straights only to be caught right back up again under braking.
It was a blast.

have you guys experienced the elise in low speed cornering like a mountain road?
my dad wants to get a mid life crisis car lol. i told him the elise but he says he wants more torque than that especially since most of the driving he intends to do with his midlife crisis car is in the mountains around malibu

After clearling the Porsche, it looks like he turned around a 1:35. If you have not seen it (or were not able to figure it out from the video name), it's the big track at Willow Springs. Here's a link to the track map:

and to put things in perspective, a link to the track records:
