killed an evo and a few STI's

just cliff notes of some runs. well, more like a few stories so i can ask a question.

Went to the local hang out tonight. followed my buddies evo8 up as usual. we ran each other probably 10 times tonight just messin around. from stop lights and from rolls. I beat him everytime. its not really even that close he has catback and intake.

later on we came across a nice blue STI. must have been one of the newer ones...i dont keep up with them very much, but it didnt look like the older models. anyway, we lined up 3 wide. FD,STI,EVO. he honked and we took off.

the STI and i pulled away from my buddies evo and we hung almost exactly neck to neck to the top of 4th. it was fun. neither of us could pull an inch! my wife says i was a few feet ahead of him, maybe half a fender. but it was close. unknown mods on the STI, but it was LOUD.

last part. raced another STI the other day. went from about 20mph, to the top of third then had to slow for upcoming traffic. i was behind him when we started, and i pulled to him, and was pulling slowly until we had to stop. had we continued, i would have pulled half a car to 1 length ahead in 4th. again, unknown mods. he had big black intercooler but wasnt too loud, like the other.

so im curious. does everyone else have these kind of results? i only have intakes,DP, RB version 1 cat-back, and base mod map PFC. i thought these cars would/should rape me? i thought they ran low 13's in STOCK trim?but im beating them even with their mods?

whats the deal? or is this what would normally happen?

^ well thats possible, but that makes 3 different drivers in 3 different cars all noob drivers.

and racing from a roll isnt exactly rocket science. just dont miss a shift and theres not a whole lot more to it, ya know? well, thats the way i see it. but even then, im beating my buddies evo from a dig?

Well, the FD ran high 13's in stock form, so...
Maybe cause your car weighs just a bit less...

With a good tune, you could be around 270 rwph (depending upon your boost level). At that hp, your car will run high 12's with a good driver.

What boost level are you running? Sounds like you have a strong running car

^ ive got the blitz sbc set to 10.5 psi. which translates to barely above 10psi in the first turbo, then it spikes to about 11(peak recorded 11.8 one day) and then settles to barely above 10psi until redline.

i really want to get a nice intercooler and a Kahn tune.

nope. no video. the evo is my buddys and we can film it next time. he has however, just installed cams and we havnt had a chance to race yet. his car "feels" much faster.

as far as pulling on cars that seems like i shouldnt be....i dont know how to explain it, but every car ive owned, ive pulled on cars that i shouldnt have?
