If you caught a thread earliar about this kid talking smack about my car from his F350, well I never told anyone how it ended. Basically someone told the kid or he did some research on my car and it was the end of crap talk, he thought it was just a fixed up miata. Anyways, this kids truck is triple chipped, full exhaust, upgraded turbo, intake etc etc. I ran into him oneday when I was getting something done to my car at a high performance truck shop and he told me some interesting stuff. He goes to the strip quite often to race his truck, and he says he puts down low 13s. Thats pretty dam impressive and he could smoke most other cars around, but his truck could easily get killed by a slightly modded 7. He says he has to set his truck into launch mode, and that its a 6 spd auto tranny. He normally redlines at ~3k rpm. At idle no exagerations the truck sounds like a small aircraft preparing to take off. All these mods, his truck is fast, but INSANE speeds? Get a grip. This story is ages old but I have to call BS. I fail to see how a Turbo V10 Diesel could be unnoticed, besides you dont even mention any black smoke which highpower diesels are notorious for! And no diesels are not the new hotrods, yes they can be powerful and fast for little money in mods, but consider that a heavily modified truck can bearly top stock 7s, Im not worried.

Never post again. They didnt touch the turbo, It was a simple propane injection, N2O, and bully dog exhaust and ECU upgrade. THe stock turbo can push nowhere near 60psi, and it is accually quite small.

The black smoke the are "notorious" is just more fuel and big turbo lag. Almost all diesels up until the DD ECEMS systems came out in the late 90s smoked like a frieght train under load. I am pushing 800hp (200hp overstock) on my 2k2 Peterbuilt. It does not black smoke even under extreme loads. If you are Black smoking you either have a shitty tune, or your turbo selection is built for high end horsepower only.

Yes diesels are the new hot rods. Its cheap, most of the new cars and truck with them look good, getting great power is affordable. A simple remap of the ECU is now good for 100hp, and 250ftlbs.

Thank you very much. I stand by by my prior post and you just back it up. I'm a gas powered fan all the way but only somebody who knows nothing about diesels would argue against anything you and I both said in our posts

Oh yea and you never know whos running the bio diesels now days and even with a bad tune etc they still emit very little thick black smoke if any.

Anybody with a highly modded diesel who is only running low 13's either A: can't drive, B: has a screwed up tune C: a combo of both D: is BSing about his mods. I have seen numerous dieseld running low 13's with only a programmer running a mild tune, intake and exhaust.

I still say I am gonna take my peterbuilt to the track one day. I can probably break 17seconds, which isnt bad considering it wieghs so much, and I have 13 gears to rip through.

Unless that kids race with an M3 with his Z06 and lost it but he might fabricate the story and change to an RX7 racing with a tourag and humiliate RX7 instead of his z06. Beside is really unbelievable for an SUV to beat 488 HP RX7.

just for comparison,
there is a minivan doing low 12's with a 383 and some spray. I see no reason a modded turbodiesel v10 shouldn't be seeing at least low 11's.
but people will speculate this back and forth until we all die.
ps this story has been going around cen fl for years.

I dont think most people relize that a toureg is quick peppy for its size. 5 liters 310hp and 550ft lbs send a 5000lbs+ vehicle to 60 in 7.6 seconds. Thats not to shabby.

yes they sold V10 TDI's in the states. VW only imported a few hundred of them and many of them were pre-ordered...
