Killed an RX-8 in my FB!!!
Had a guy in an RX-8 want to play at a stop light today... Looked stock except for no tips coming out of the back... When the light went green, the RX-8 got a jump of about a half car... Nice launch, I was still trying to hook up... First gear was all his, but once we grabbed second, I pulled even with him, and then started pulling ahead... Spun the tires when I grabbed third, and kept the distance about the same... Finally shut it down about 75 mph... Got a thumbs up from the guy in the 8, and we went our separate ways!!

that doesnt seem right... a 12a sp vs. 13b renesis. doesnt add up. I hardly ever call bs on posts. But think about it... the rx8 is running in the 14.5 range. A stock carbbed sp 12a isnt going to even come close to that. Hell even the gsl-se 13b sp or supercharged isnt even around those times.
Maybe the guy launched and didnt want to race faster than a little over the speed limit.

My dad wouldn't rev past 3000 until 1500 miles in his... so as long as he's a new and responsible RX8 owner, I'm going with GoofyRotor... and I doubt he was really "racing" you if he was still breaking in.

Good kill man.
I got my *** whopped long time ago (not with my FD)from a slightly moded FB.
Before my FD I had a 85 300 ZX (pretty quick) and the FB raced me from light to light, he had like 2 car lenghts ahead of me.
We both pulled over and he showed the engine bay and a big *** carburator with no filter.

For all of you calling BS. I just dynoed 158hp at the wheels with some carb tuning. The car is definitely faster than I thought it would be. Why would I make up a story? What purpose would it serve? Why would the guy give me a Thumbs up, like he's saying "good run"? Honestly....

I can't say if his car was a auto or not, or even if the guy was realy driving it hard..... but the Rx-8 is'nt a super fast car. Its a awesome car to own, and I love the looks....but the 8 in its detuned state is'nt the most impressive car out their. Now my FD on the other hand.....Now thats a car! CJ

Looks like some people here are unaware of how well the stock Nikki carbs respond to tuning, and that the combined effects of a lightweight car, a good driver, a properly ported and tuned rotary will lead to victory over many machines - including the regretfully slow RX-8.
