NJ killed modified mustang gt 98 model

so this past thursday night went with some people to a car meet, on the way home were just crusin its about 11pm so mild traffic in my area, and this mustang gt convertible passes on my left, and his woman looks at my car and seems to be laughing, granted my car is too loud,so i assume hes making a joke, as he is almost out of my view he blips the throttle squats and goes, i notice a yellow light flash but thought it was the traffic light, that we were going through. then i see a half cage through his rear window, so i go after him we pass traffic, i line up next to him he has a smirk on his face looks at his girl,i guess to get permission. he then down shifts to second, i then down shift to second, im at about 6grand, we both punch it he jumps half car in front, then his shift light goes off he hits 3rd,im still in second 8500 shift im now half a car in front, hit 3rd start pulling little more then he lets off! so i let off. we do about 5 pulls like this with about the same reults he had the jump on some, but i want a real run so i stay with him, finally we get open highway. in second same as him punch it,i pull half car at top of second then grinding cant get it into 3rd, sycro is on way out. finally find 3rd he is car and half in front stretch out 3rd im by his door. then he lets off! damit so im lookin at him hes giving me thumbs up, but im pointing with my finger 1 more 1 more, he gives in, down to second at about 55mph, we punch it he gets half car on me. top of 2nd were even, hit 3rd smooth top it out im about a car in front, he lets off. i go to roll my window down to talk but he had turned off for his exit. he was cool and the whole time we were running he kept looking at my hood area, guess trying to figure out what i had. since my car doesnt sqaut it just goes, hes around my area so im sure ill meet him again, was cool dude. the whole time my boy was following in his friends scion tc, he tried to get video but couldnt catch up to us to get any, next time we will though!

I built my car for time attack and track events. I didn't build it. For high power. Ill buy a turbo car if I feel the need for more power

You dont need massive HP to require a rollbar/rollcage. Those are for safety. Like a harness, a seatbelt.

Would you say you dont need to wear your seatbelt if you're max speed is 40mph?? I mean if the cars' max speed is 40, thats slow as hell, you dont need a seatbelt then right?

Over correction on a track plus wrong timing, landing in a ditch or spinning out at high speed can make a car roll easily. There are of course other variables but a rollbar/cage is for safety. It doesnt and shouldnt coincide with HP.

Actually they put a rollcage in the car for insurance purposes. Cause like you dont want a celebrity to sue the **** out of BBC/top gear if they roll over.

A rollcage in a street car is a waste of time and money. If your that worried about your safety perhaps stick to the speed limit, track work etc is a different story.

What about a street car that goes to the track twice a year?

You can roll the car your first day at the track. Its a safety precaution. There is no set time in rolling your car. Thats why you put it, cause you just dont know and wanna be safe.

Because you have a moot point.

Your argument is vague and flawed. You say rollcages are pointless for 13 second cars? You only need it if you can do 11 flat?

Why because most/all tracks require a bar/cage if you go faster than 11.49 right?

Rollcages do not correlate with hp/track times. Its a safety precaution. Like a seatbelt. As well as a fire extinguisher.

Whether its circuit or drag, cars can roll over. There is no hp line that has to be crossed before you decide to get a rollcage/bar.
