So i was at a meet and this red FD showed up with rebuilt motor and street port about 2000 miles ago, stock twins, front mount intercooler, hks carbon Ti catback and haltech ecu boosting 14 psi. I am running a 95 S14 with SR20 and garrett GT2871R, rom-tuned ecu, z32 maf, and 555cc injectors, with apexi intake, blitz intercooler, blitz downpipe and apexi gt spec catback.

Anyways after the meet we decide to do a couple runs on the freeway, we started at 60 mph, 1st race i pulled on him pretty good. 2nd race wit hthe same results, 3rd raced we started slower so i was in 2nd gear and he was keepin up for a little while, but once i hit 3rd i was gone.

So yea, anotehr FD down, 3rd FD i killed

i really have no idea, but i was boosting about 1.3-1.4 bar though on 91 octane.

 

maybe it was a civic with a custom FD body kit????

I saw the first race from behind, but missed the second and third, and the S14 definitely pulled on the FD on that run.

i beleive it...... sr20's respond really well to mods..... i had an s15 t28 on mine and trapped 110 running 14psi, so you should be a faster than that with the turbo your running. in comparison back when my fd was on stock twins running 11psi on a street ported motor i also trapped 110.

i never dynoed, the gt2871R is not that much bigger then a stock sr20 turbo, i am APU but i beleive it was a good run.

 

A/T's are faster than M/T's...supposibly.

 

Your thinking of Supras, which is just BS anyways. If the gearing for the A/T made car faster, gave better gas mileage, and did it with one less gear there would be no such thing as a M/T.

3 FD kills? You either live by a real bad rebuild shop, or your brothers with that guy who says his FD was keeping up with a C6 ZO6 with just a downpipe or something

Nice kill! I've been beat by a gutted s13 coupe with clipped s15turbo( 2400lbs) and a built s13 liftback(can't remember turbo) both with sr20 motors. They were close races but i was deffinatley the slower car in those races. I was still on the stock twins at the time though. Bot owners are cool and not cocky so it was fun regardless

M/T are already becoming scarce as is. Aside from those reasons though, M/T are specifically for the joys when driving which come from interacting with the gearbox. Autos are more consistent, and when built for the application properly, will outshift a full manual gearbox any day.

Yep, FDs are cars, and they lose too.

Fast RX-7s are still Mazdas. I'd give a shyt, because that would be one respectable, and fast vehicle, built by someone who obviously enjoys cars, and not brands.
