So today I was on my merry way..it was perfect weather out and I had my windows down. I come to a red light and I see a red 97+ body style talon pull next to me..but he stays back far enough that I cannot see his face. I look in my rear view and see the "16v DOHC Turbo" on the side of the DSM..I get excited. . The light turns green and I take off normally to see if this guy is going to do anything. The guy hits it.... OD is off in my car...so I am not in my powerband at all. He pulls ahead about 1/4 car and I hear his BOV go off(he let off).

The guy is chilling back..obviously thinking he has the faster car...so I decide I would like to make it clear that he really couldn't stand a chance. I tap my brakes a little and wait for the guy to catch up to me. I wait a second...and as soon as he is next to me he floors it. I am on the gas...but O/D is still off..so the car is pulling up the RPMs reaching the powerband. Once I hit my powerband I start pulling very hard and I hear his BOV...I am about 1.5 cars ahead of him at this time. I still lay it down in the pedal so I could brand my rear end in his mind..then I let off. I see him turn off of the highway a few seconds after. I was excited to run a DSM in my GT.. in case you guys didn't know by now..I own a 95 tsi awd.

Outcome was as expected..I didn't see any fmic so I was pretty sure I would take the guy. I am guessing he had an intake pipe, and maybe a boost controller..judging how loud the turbocharger was. My mods on the GT are a SLP LM II catback..that's it. That guy is lucky my gears aren't in yet . It would have been a flat out slaughter. I had my fun for today.

 

Nice , sucks for him. ever notice that its always the ricy guys that pull off or turn off the road after you rape them? lol. He must not have much done at all though , my 1st gen dsm eats modded gts here all day long. but its not stock.

 

that was a second gen DSM.

 

Definitely had to be stock IMO.
