That's fine keep going. I am not going to push my point any further. Yes a 26 project. Yes a 944 project. No more 20B, that car is totaled (YES, I AM HAPPY ITS DEAD.) No bs dYno, that is all n/a power. Wanna test me post that in the porscheforums. Any more? I have nothinG to prove to anyone but myself.

 

1) No, not a 26B project. You won't be able to get a 26 or could you afford it.

I just finished reading this thread ...and my god what a collection of funny *** **** They need to start a funny thread Area and archive this thing. As for the whole SC stock NA 500hp thing and wat little information Ive been giving about wat other mods would be done, I have to say extreme exagergation. Now I really dont care ethier way, and im mostly posting this outta bordem. But It would be possible to make a "NA" care have that much horsepower IF! and only IF the engine were so majorly modified that it would not be a Stock N/A motor anymore.... So by calling it a Stock NA motor we are to assume exactly that. Stock NA motor+500Hp =No way, But....... Fully built race motor+500hp =Plausible. Now in your part assuming that We would some how know that said motor would no longer be stock puts you at fault for not providing enough information/detail and some how assuming that we know wat other mods would be done. Im not here to argue about blah blah blah I just want to help clairify the situation... And I know that some how we all dont care wat each other thinks but for some reason we continue to argue. but the fact is we all do care... even if its a small degree its still caring. Also providing proof to back up wat you claim is entirly up to you. But if you come in here for some recogition about something. which is wat you were seeking (argue all you want. thats a factor in driving,owning,racing and being invovled with cars is about, not to mention Life ) If you want people to tak you serious then at least make and attempt to back up wat you claim. Feel free to queston any aspect of wat im saying at any time cause i can go in way too much detail if need be ..... so anyways i better stop cause this is way to long as it is

I just thought it was necessary to come here and say that the "gentleman" with the 944 is NOT indicative of all of us. Some of us are serious car nuts (hell I have had more than my fair share of RX7s and still have a 90 vert -FS if anyone wants one cheap) and actually know WTF we are talking about.

Mr. Pilkington is an idiot and knows as little about 944s as I do about flying a space shuttle. Trust me, we are having a good laugh at him on the Porsche sites too.

 

SC Kits are available through www.speedforceracing.com . They dont make anywhere near 500 hp. They have never claimed that they do and that is because the dont.

Careful, myself as well as a few others are making 400+ on pump gas with "moderate" boost (23psi myself). However, everything on the car has been worked. The number of 300+ RWHP 944Ts is growing leaps and bounds every day. It is very easy to make 300HP with one.

Agreed but that is not a 944T dyno, you can tell because it is still making power at 6500 rpms. A stock 944T wont do that (compressor is ineffecient) and a modded one would make a lot more power.

I dont mean to rehash this discussion, because i know how much of a headache it must have caused reading Mr Pilkington's claims and remarks are. I would just like to say that i hope this guy has not left a bad impression on owners of 944's. This guy really has no clue what hes talking about, and you can see for yourself over at PorscheForums.Com . The n/a 8valve 944 is a fairly slow car, 150 horsepower about. And in no way will this car ever put out 500 horsepower without a bottomless wallet and alot of time spent. A supercharged 944 (One or two are floating around our forums at Rennlist.Com) dont make anymore than a stock 944 Turbo, or no more than 220hp. The transmission on the 944 (all series 944's really) are very fragile and would likley blow the ring and pinion trying to feather the clutch out with that type of power. A well worked 944 engine short of turbo or supercharging it will likley make no more than 190-200 horsepower. And to get those types of numbers, im talking some serious work done to it.

Like 944turbo said, the 944 Turbo can make some serious power for not too much money. 300 horsepower is fairly easy to reach, 400 being a little more of a challenge. But still very do-able with the right tuning, modifications and money.

Like 944turbo said, i just wanted to say not all of us Porsche drivers/old Porsche drivers/944 drivers are idiots making out rageous claims. The 944 is slow, we all know that. Soccer mom minivans are faster in acceleration. All us 8v 944 guys have too back us up is good handling .

And much respect for the RX-7, ive seen some pretty highly modified ones over on Deer Park Ave. on Long Island (huge street racing area) and they are pretty imrpessive (not that i condone street racing).

And on a side note, i was once mistaken for a RX-7. These two guys were looking at my car for a few minutes, likley confused at what they were looking at. "It looks like an RX-7, but why are the fenders so much bigger?". "HEY MAN NICE RX-7!".

 

where'd mr plunkinton go? did he get embarassed enough to leave and never come back...i sure hope so. There should be a standardized test to allow people to use car forums, to keep crap like that out. Too much need for speed underground for that poor fellow.

 

Techno, 944s are nice cars - especially when they first came out. I (and several others) just can't stand people that post Dr. Suess stories (some made-up/impossible "kill" or, like Mr. Pilkington, utter crap regarding Hp output). This is why I gently asked for a "link" regarding the s-charger kit, etc. Something was up & Pilkington was, "full of it", shall we say.

Its a shame when clowns post Dr. Suess stories. Its a waste of people's time & good bandwidth used by people that post REAL information. Ahh, well, it was entertaining to say the least.

That Porscheforum thread is a hoot. One thing people should note is there is no actual proof that Mr Pilkington owns a 944. I agree with the other 944 turbo owner. I own a 1989 944 Turbo S and know that 500 hp is difficult enough to do in a car designed for boost let alone one that is not like a 944 n/a. Very few 944 turbo's make that power and most that do have increased their displacement as well as done a pile of modifications to get there. I dyno'd my car at 279 rwhp/307 lb-ft of torque on a Mustang dyno with my car at 15 lbs of boost and a k27/8 turbo, chips and a 3 bar fuel pressure regulator. Everything else was stock and I was running lean at 15 lbs. I have since increased my injector sizes and bought an SMT6. It is my opinion that the dyno sheet posted by Mr. Pilkington likely came from another model of car.

Speedforce Racing, Lindsey Racing, Vitesse Racing all make quality products for the 944 but none to my knowledge make a supercharger that makes the power claimed by Mr. Pilkington.
