Friends FD vs. SRT-4
Went from a 55 roll, SRT-4 is running 16 PSI, has gutted exhaust, intake, etc. FD has intake, exhaust, downpipe, SMIC. Friend started in 3rd at 55 So it took him a gear to catch up. He fell back about 3 cars on the start, then pulled hard once he got going. He won by about 1 1/2 cars by 130. I have a vid if someone can host it.

Well, even though you're rolling from 55mph, I don't suggest rolling from 2nd. The RPM would be way too high, close to red line. All your buddy had to do was brake boost in third and he would of never let the Neon get a head start.

He just got the car the other day, hasn't had much practice. To brake boost you would do what?

I think what it means is you would press in the gas the build your boost, but ride the brake with the left foot so that you are boosting but not accelerating forward, but rather maintaining the same rolling speed as the guy next to you who's trying to race. One the race is on, let off the brake and since you're already on the boost, no waiting for spool up. I've also seen it done where you are cruising and just before you're about to stomp on it, you would quickly smash the gas in but step in on the clutch also and quickly release it as if you are popping your clutch from a dead start, but this is on a rolling start so when you are quickly pressing both gas and clutch in, you're in the boost and when you let the clutch back out, just stomp and hold on...no need for spooling.

Hey, since we are on this, he wants to trade me for my 18's for his stock wheels and give me some money. What size tires is the biggest I can fit on the stock FD wheels?

and makes them turn bright redish/yellow depending on speed.

I raced a SRT-4 the car was stock as far as I could tell but they said that it boosted 16 psi at WOT, we went from a 30 roll we stayed even for the second that I have of turbo lag, and I mean a second. I walked the SRT-4 hard, I had it by 3 or so cars at the top of 3rd, then it just got worse. I was at low boost (10lbs). It was a nice car though and even better looking driver! (cute blond)

I got a bit confused at the end there...seemed as if you had lost. Good kill!
That brake boost thing is just a way to counter lag. I tried it and it takes some getting used to. i really dont like to ride the brakes like that though and would only recomend doing it as a last resort if you keep loosing by a car or so on take off...
