FD vs. MR2 T
When I said build to the stock mr2, I am reffering to stock potential. You can't boost the same amount on a stock rx7 motor as you can on a mr2. Granted you do make more hp stock than we do, but how about after 400(reliable hp). So tell me how I am contradicting myself? Post where I said the mr2 was faster stock.

He has a video of his stock mr2 making 429.

Ultimately though, what are you trying to prove here? The capabilities of the MR2? or it's engine? Most members here can respect the MR2, as they also owned one, and the first few pages were full of examples. I would guess that you started off with trying to prove that the MR2 platform is very capable, and it is, but it is nothing that an RX-7 can't do, or has not done on a regular basis. Big power, top speed, sharp predictable cornering, hard braking, etc. are all things the FD has seen/done many times. Honestly, MR2's are not something FD owners fear, when pulling next to one. You have a great car, but it is the exception, and even then can be surpassed. Glad to see what you've done to it, but the average FD is no slouch in the power/speed department either. As you came here to talk about MR2 facts, take some time to learn about our cars as well, and you will understand.
I have been on the mr2 board for a while now and have seen his car progress and let me tell yall his car is fast. along with all the other 500+ whp mr2s some on stock block. i want to see yall( rx7 people) find some one in your community that is in houston and is willing to race 45 psi. then you should post the vids .then and only then we will see what is faster

Your right, I should take time to learn more about your cars. Eventhough my brother had one, it wan't there long enough for me to enjoy.

This is the only thing I could find that pertains to your question. He's the guy at garageadvance.com.

i use blitz gasket and normal arps and have run 30psi on the stock block The norm stuff hsould be able to make your 30psi goal. Hell I am planning on pushing the normal stuff to teh limit (750rwhp on boost alone or bust) I will be utilizing either one of our 71mm inducer turbos or the big dog 74mm. Both will have gtq wheels and should produce that power on boost. We will see what the norm products can take....
and a 5s block for my oversized valves (87.5mm bore)
PS: what happened to your motor tom? Is it still living? I would love to see you push it to the 600rwhp limit on a stocker. I know it can do it...

After realizing that, you posted the above, thus coming to your senses about how you should stop talking out of your *** about a car you know nothing about. To this I posted
Finally come to your senses, did ya?

Hahaha... please please tell me how stupid I sound.
As for you, this is how stupid you sound :

My point is you have to build an rx7 to be up to a stock mr2. Who cares what the stock number show. Those are just numbers. Toyota have always underated there cars, don't be fooled by Toyotas stock claims of 200hp. At our recent gathering, atleast 6 mr2's dynoed at over 192 at the wheels on a stock motor.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I still just don't get why you say that you have to build an FD up to match a stock MR-2, yet later you say:
quote:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ok where did I ever post that a stock mr2 was faster? I said an mr2 ran a 14.2-14.5. Compared to a 13.9 at the most for an FD. And where did the extra 55hp go.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well, right there you said it was faster, because you said that an FD must be modded to match a stock MR-2. I'm just wondering why you contradicted yourself in those two post ?
OMG you got
Get it now ?
You're even > dumberer than I thought

Its already been clearly established that you don't know what you're talking about so why go out of my why to educate a little keyboard warrior? I have better things to do with my time.
45 PSI kinda makes me feel sorry for him. He is like the last of his kind trying to make his stand. Kinda like that guy that went after the indians and got all cut up.
Fact is, MR2's would be a good race with a S2000, not Rx-7. Go home troll.

Anyway, I'd love to see this. Let me know when you two are going to meet up. I could probably get it ALL on tape. Let me know.

45psi,
I have no ill feelings- you have a great car, and I'm glad you think highly of it. I personally am not looking for that much power, but I am aiming for 400rwhp. Either way, I learned a bit about MR2's, and I hoped you learned a bit about our FD's as well.

Hey 45psi guy, come to Abilene it shouldn't be to hard for you since you must have a good amount of cash laying around looking at the fact that you think it would take an RX-7 with more then 500hp to beat you. I would gladly run your MR2 on the high way.
P.S. You might want to buy that NOS octane booster they sell at auto zone, you just might need it!

I love those expensive Mr2, and I was about to get one when I decided for the FC (both were NA's).
On any case, I find it amusing when piston engine owners say "On stock buttom" or "stock internals"
Don't they know that there aren't any aftermarket internal for the rotary engine. I mean there is only one:
OEM
NO UPGRADED Rotors
NO UPGRADED E shaft
NO UPGRADED Housings
NO UPGRADED Side plates
