I don't think you're very familiar with the performance capabilites of the FD RX-7.

FD: 255hp, 217 ft/lbs, ~2800 lbs
MR2: 200hp, 142 ft/lbs, ~2900 lbs

Compare the horsepower to weight ratios. They don't look like they're in the same performance categories to me at all.

The FD is a head to head competitor for the Supra, not it's little brother. Do you honestly think I would race a 135hp non turbo MR2 in the FD? I've beaten normally aspirated MR2s in my bone stock 1991 CRX Si.

45psi's MR2 is the huge exception versus the rule. His car sounds very badass---but how many of them nationwide are rockin' a T-88? If they're out there, I sure don't know about them.

Don't mean to come off as arrogant or abrasive . I think incredulous is more the word. First S2000s, now this. Some people need to learn their place in the hierarchy of the sports car arena.....
where did you get 142lb's of torque at? They're 200lb's of stock torque for the us model. 2nd gen jdm is 225 to 225 and 3rd gen is 245 to 250 around.

How about the fact that the mr2 isn't competative in the street tuner time trials (nor is your fabled supra for that matter)

How about you compare any US 'sports' v8 sedan to a nascar - that's about as similar as a JGTC entrant to a stock or street-modified FD/supra

How about the fact that the FD owns all the other japanese supercars in best motoring circuit tests (barring the ultra $$$ NSX). Where's the mr2??

How about snap oversteer

How about the fact that $$$ for $$$, the FD is far cheaper to get big numbers out of.

How about you post which record that car claims and then tell us why that is relevant to this topic.

come on - let's have some solid claims here!
how is it cheaper to hop up an Rx7? How much do Rx7's run for? About 10 grand and up? Plus you got to replace the motor if you buy it for that price cause dude is probably selling is cause it's due for a new motor, since those motors are only good for 60k miles. I bought my 91 t MR2 frame for 2k. Perfect frame. My motor for 1500 shipped to me and my rebuilt lsd tranny for 500. I'm searching for a dual ball bearing turbo upgrade right now which I'm probably gonna spend 3k on that's gonna give me 400 hp. My total cost will be $7,000. Not much compared to what I would've spent if I bought an rx7........and yes I was in the market to buy an rx7 before. I'm glad I bought the MR2 though.
