FD v Stealth RT
FD v Stealth RT
So I was bored as hell last night and decided to check out the area scenes. I was initially just interested in hanging out and just BSing but my first stop in Orland bored the crap outta me. Lotta stangs and some other really stupidly done domestics. Sounds and lights seemed to be a recurring theme there, so I left and headed for Harlem and Archer in Chicago. Those of you from the area know about that over there.
Skipping ahead a little I end up ahead of a Stealth R/T. Don't see too many of those in in favor of a 3000. Anyway, he's right on my *** and obviously wants to play. Honestly, this is the only half way decent thing all night, so I oblige. We hang a right onto Harlem and give it a quick go. He gets the jump and I quickly real him in. This all within about 7-10 seconds from about 30-40 on. I'm ahead in the left and move to the right to get onto 55 north. It's about 11:30 so I'm thinking that traffic shouldn't be too bad. Not so much, and I get behind a cop, so we easily cruise and he gets off Central back south. We meet at a light and he says he's never gotten a chance to run a 7 before. I tell him that he'll get me off the line. He does, but mine suprisingly held a lot of traction in first and second and didn't fall behind at all. Maybe 3/4 length back. I quickly reeled him in by the middle of third. We did that about two more times. Once more from a stop and one from about a 20 roll. Needless to say I whooped him good.
He was pushing 23 psi on stock twins at at least intake and exhaust and I would hope some kinda management. I really didn't think I wouldn't have, but after I found out he was pushing 23 psi, my view of those completely changed. I've always likes those (the Stealths in particular) and knew that they were comparatively slow, but damn...at 23 pounds I'd have thought that it would be a little better than that. I'm at 15 BTW.

Ya, that guy was full of crap. Stock 9b's are only really good upto maybe 15psi, after that they are just blowing hot air.
If he was running 23psi, he had less power then he would have if he was running 14psi, for all the hot air he was forcing into the engine, not to mention all the timing that would have had to have been pulled to match the stock fuel injectors to that level of air.
Anyway, good kill. It sounds pretty much right with modded 7 vs RT. RT off the line, with the 7 playing catch-up into at least 3rd and eventually passing.

Sweet kill. It's always nice to race against something unique.
