Question Who put Dodge Stealth seats in their 7? do they fit?

I read someones Sig. a couple weeks back and they said they had Dodge Stealth seats ... I am wondering what it takes to get these to fit correctly? I have a 10AE but my seats are toast, I can get them recovered black leather for $325.00 EA. But it will take them 3-4 Weeks! I can't cruise around on a milk carton crate for 3-4 weeks. So i found a set of black leather Seats out of a 95 Stealth for a resonable ($600) I plan to go look at them this Saturday .. but they are 130 miles away So I will save myself the time and energy if it is a pain in the *** to get them to work.

Info Please?
Or does anyone recall who has that in his Sig. I will PM him.

Thanks Alot,
Robert

No way, I have to do this right... I'm going Black leather, or not at all Those stealth seats look badass, and they gotta be comfy considering the car cost 35k+ plus adjustable headrest .. but I gotta know how much of a pain in the *** it is to get them in.

There is no way to search signatures is there?

I'm guessing we're talking twin turbo stealths, here. I've never seen the interior of one of those, the one at the local boneyard had them pulled a while ago. I have been in a 93 base (it's an automatic, but hey, it is a lady friend's car, but I did teach her some 5 speed in my 7 ) and those seats wern't too shabby.

I don't know about Stealth seats but I know some one who put Viper seats in his FC and they fit great. He had to build the brakets him self tho.

ya the seats I am looking at are from a 95 R/T turbo .. a $39k car ... they are electric adjustable "sport" seats .. very very nice! I just wish I knew how much i would have to fabricate. I looked up the stealth in a Library auto repair database and the bolt patterns all seemed semi close, Im just not sure on the dementions.

I have a friend that can get one piece racing seat for $240 a piece which wouldn't be as nice as leather but give great driving position.

You most likely would need to do major fabrication to get the seat in. Even with that done, you're still looking at a lot of work to get the seat electrics to work. Not to mention I have a feeling that the seats weigh a LOT more than the stock seats.

One option you may want to look into is getting your stock seats recovered in vinyl. The seats in my 10th were recovered in top grade vinyl with all new padding and everything for $300, both seats. They look, feel, and ride like a million bucks - I've had MANY compliments on them. Don't let the term vinyl fool you - this stuff is a far cry from a '76 Ford's seats. It's actually very grippy, durable, and feels great.

Anyhow, you could easily get a junker driver's seat to put in the car so you can drive it while your seats are being recovered.

Don't underestimate the amount of time it takes to fab up seat brackets - I've been down that road, and it's a ROYAL pain in the butt. Not to mention a huge safety issue - you definitely don't want that seat to break loose in an accident!

Thx, I aim to please

But some member of this forum has swapped these seats .. I know I was not seeing things ... i saw it in his Sig. Like I said when i looked up the repair info everything looked close (but the give no size specs) I am not worried about the weight, I have plenty of power I love my creature comforts .. I still have my AC & PS installed and will keep them both .. a few pounds for nice cumfy seat is fine with me .. The controls should be easy, they are all on the seat itself .. all i need is to wire the juice up to them. None of the controls are remote from the the seat. well I think if I don't get to talk to the guy who has done this I will at least make the trip to look at them... I was going to pull my pasenger seat out before I left so I can drop the steath seat right in and see how it lines up .... Dale can you ptoss up a picture or 2 of your setas I would like to take a peek.

Those seats are going to be heavy. You would probably be better off finding some lighter, non-power seats

Yeah, I don't think you realize how heavy seats can be - 50 pounds wouldn't be out of the ordinary PER SEAT.

$600 is DAMN steep, too - you can get a pair of aftermarket race seats for less than that!

I'll post up some pics of my seats - I think I've got some on my home computer - if not, I'll snap some tonight. They're REALLY sharp. That's a really good way to go, IMHO.

Im pushing some seriuos HP out of this thing now .. and it will be more after I do my FMIC very soon ... 50 Lbs is nothing .. thats not even a passenger. I talked to another place that wanted $750! PER SEAT for the exact seats ... thats why i thought $600 for both was a great deal.

Here's some pics of my vinyl-recovered seats from my 10th. Both are of the passenger seat sitting in my house.

Here's pic one...

I dunno about the Steath seats, but here is a pick of my 2002 Celica GT-S seats that I put in my car.

It was one major PIA, but well worth it.

Dude, I've always LOVED Celica seats. Where did you get them, and how much were they? How did you mount them?

dude, go to a junkyard and get yourself one other FC seat to use while you're tooling around town, then get yours fixed.

The passenger seat from my N/A should fit in the drivers side of my TII right? I won't be able to take any passengers in both cars for a while .. but fug it.

They should line right up right?

I got my Celica seats out of a wrecked GT-S, think I only paid 350 for them.. or was it 450... can't remember.

I got some of the bolts to bolt into factory holes, but has to make my own brackets for the other bolts.

All in all.. it was worth it..
