ohh my... FD rx7 a "piece of ****"? who are these turds? i know a bunch of MAJOR pompus mustang guys who actually have much faster cars than me ( TT700whp 03 cobra, 5.4 lightning motor swaped 96 stang-450 whp--i do actually take this guy) but they loved it when i sold my evo and later bought my FD. they actually respect it and acknowledge it as a "nice 'real' sports car." they do keep trying to get me to drop in an ls1 though... NEVER!

its obvious that race makes him feel like fire ants running, bitting their way through his viens. you have the upper hand here, dont let him get to you. you won after all. you have proof.

Nice kill. It's a shame such a nice car(z06) is owned by such an idiot. I'd say he got what he deserved.

I hope one day to sell my coupe C5 for a C5Z and twin turbo it. Would be sick as hell to own a C5Z-TT and an FD-TT in the garage. Someday...

Yeah no kidding I still like the new C6 ZO6 though. There's a lot of technology packed into that car... not just the motor but everything else about it. I think a turbo C5 ZO6 would be overkill. But I think the C6 ZO6 is overkill (street car). I still want one

My only gripe about the C6 ZO6 is the leafsprings. Sure it gets the job done, but .

actually i like them. fully adjustable ride height. sure it seems a bit old school... but the engineering behind them is very new. just look the its numbers... over 1 g in cornering... come on,

Like I said, it gets the job done. I'm certainly not saying that it doesn't handle, but the car just seems to be crude (leafsprings, huge displacement). Maybe that's just the American style though. Anyone have slalom results for the C6Z? Lateral acceleration tests just show how good the tires are.

That being said, I'd buy one in a heartbeat if I had the money.

There's reasons why the C5 Z06 was on par or beating FD's in the stock class. Trust me they handle GOOD.

The extra 150 hp over the RX-7 didn't hurt either.

They're also 300-400lbs heavier so that offsets alot of the power difference.

c5 z06 were rated at 400 motor hp, which was conservative. They dynoed very high.

fd is rated at 255 motor hp. Looks like a 150 difference to me

he was saying that the rwhp was being offset by the 300-400 lb difference. my reply was that weight difference would only negate about 1/3 of it or 50 rwhp max.

did u see that i quoted him?

Not even close.

Stock Fd's trap mid 13's at 100 or so.
Stock Z06's have trapped 11.8's at 118 plus.

2800/255= 10.98 power to weight
3150/405= 7.77 power to weight

dude, seriously... your crazy thinking a C5 z06 will run 11's.... if your ganna quote that time... the rx7 runs mid 12's. your thinking of a C6 z06, which will run 11.8 WITH A GOOD DRIVER.. im from bowling green ky, home of the vette. ive seen more vettes than ANYONE run. I am a vette authority. ive heard many people say "dude, a stock c5 zo6 can run 11's." which is bull ****. the fastest time ive ever seen out of a bone stock z06 is 12.29, and nowhere near 118.... , and his tires were questionable. they avereage 12.4-12.5 WITH A GOOD DRIVER. you can quote these times that a zo6 forum will say, but its bull ****, because always these "factory freeks" have something done to them that the driver either does not disclose, or does not think is a modification (ie, stickier tires, gutting cats, etc).

Check the post under yours to see the truth. And FD's do NOT trap 13's. Not your average stock FD, and the owner who drives it. More like 14 flat. My stock C5 with 100 more hp is suppose to trap mid 13's with a good driver.
