SCCA Nationals @ Nelson Ledges & NJ Motorsports Park

I'll be there running my 2nd gen in E Production. #47 multi colored. Nelson is 5/29-30 and NJMP is 6/5-6. If anyone is going, stop by and say hello. My tow rig is a Pace Arrow class A with a 24' red Haulmark trailer. Car is running well and I'm shooting for a class championship this year. 3rd in the NE Division the last 3 years, I gotta break the streak!

Good luck!

A little off topic, I have been running around Nelson Ledges for a few years now on their Fundays. I'm curious what type of lap times an E production FC turns there.

I guess I'll have to wait for TV coverage.

Have a good race!

I got down to 1:18.2 and probably had another 1-2 seconds in it, but I ran over something on the track and had a blowout on the back straight @ over 100 mph. Luckily I was able to slow down with no damage other than in the wheel well where whatever was on the track put a dent when it was thrown by the tire. For what it's worth most guys were off their last years times by 2 seconds and I was 1/2 second better than last year. The car is probably capable of 14's with some more track time there. I'm just now getting the car dialed in to where it doesn't push on entry. Now I just need to hold the right foot down a little longer going into 1&2.

Sorry to hear about the result. At least you got it gathered up and no serious damage. Any in car vid?

I should have some in car vid. I won't be able to check for a few days as 15 miles from the track the trans in my motorhome went out. The whole rig is in Ohio waiting for a Jasper trans and I'm 300 miles away in Pa. It wasn't the best weekend I've ever had racing, but the car and I were running well, so it wasn't a total bust.

100mph with a tire going down and the kink filling your windshield....

I haven't run Nelson since about 1992 or 93, have they repaved it yet? lol I have heard the ownership has changed and it's shaping up. Always loved to track, hated the outhouse toilets.

It seems the planned rejuvenation of Nelson Ledges has fallen through. I spend most of my time at Summit Point, so I can appreciate a nice 'club level' facility...but NL is a little rough. It's a shame, because the track is definitely alot of fun and has some real big ***** type corners.

There has been some repaving a while back, but the track is pretty bumpy. It's still fast as hell. My 1:18 put me at an average speed of 92 mph. The toilets are much better and they even have showers now. You don't even need your own lawnmower!! MV Region puts on a nice event and has a decent meal on Saturday night for everyone.
