Nice video! I was going to ask if that was Paddy in the red P car, but he wasn't going fast enough to be him.
Man, I already miss VIR. I guess that's one saving grace if I get a pentagon assignment.
Fritz, I hope you are going to do the Oct TT. If you do, stop fing around and throw those 245 A6's on and turn up the boost . I'd bet you have a 2:02 in that configuration.

I still have a couple of slow days in the in the 275 R6s but I might just have to swap them out for that setup and give it a go so I don't embarrass myself to much. I know Alex will be there and he'll probably go 2.01 or 2 and so will Justin.
245 As with another 20 or so RWHP and lowered 1/2 to 1 inch could be the ticket. I'll also loose 1 pound per tire which is a pretty big deal.
PS Don't get me started on the #113 911 it's the slowest car I've ever seen running in an advanced group. I passed him 3 times one session. I think he was moved to green (seriously). There was always a massive slow moving train behind him because he was not only slow but didn't have good use of his left arm. Basically a dangerous situation that thankfully was fixed.

That vid is great for viewing the line but don't use the line I'm taking in t1 I was experimenting with an earlier brake and turn in (tighter line) and I don't think it's faster. The proper line is braking later, turn in later and get a better run at the corner using the whole track. However the jury is still out on that one. I need to be following a fast car and see how much ground I loose or gain. I think it was Randy Pobst or some other pro that likes going in early and trying to hold a tighter line. The Porsche seems to like that line so I figured I'd give it a go in the FD but again don't think it's working.

That's the line I've been running through 1 for about the past year. I first noticed Danny Popp running it and thought I'd give it a try. I think it allows you to get straighter faster so you can stay in it longer going towards Nascar, oppposed to tracking all the way track left and then having to come back track right to set up for Nascar due to the kink.

Fritz: check out the video-mix I did of an "in-car" and "on-roof" perspective. The wide-angle lens of the GoPro gives an optical illusion of the videos being out-of-synch.

Not much to see on my end (2.05s and 6s)
Pete had a blow out/break out weekend running a 2.08 (previous best was a 2.12) and the track was VERY slippery because the SCCA ran a 12 hour Enduro the previous day and there was stuff all over the track. In the vid I'm following him and if you watch my speedo he's hitting some nice speeds through the esses, braking late on the back straight and flying out of hogs pin.
We both developed exhaust leaks and mine caused a serious drop in boost but after a full turn on the manual controller I was back in business. No lap improvements for me but my baby is in the shop now to have the exhaust leak repaired and I plan to add a cage, rear diffuser, 4.3 diff and front splitter which should allow me to go a little faster in the 2012 season
Thanks to Paul, Pete and Randy for all their help repairing the exhaust leak. The DP split vertically about 6 inches and we used a bunch of hose clamps to seal it up enough to allow me to keep on scaring folks on track.
Both me and Pete bought pictures so we'll post some up once we have them. Probably a couple of weeks.
Great weather and great event but most of all it was nice to witness Pete really KICKING ***. The last few events he's lost a trans, broke a shock etc..... so it was really cool to finally see all his efforts pay off
PS My student was in a Ariel Atom and lets just say I wouldn't want to drive one without high dollar ear plugs on a 70 plus degree day, I on the other hand didn't have goo ear plugs and it was sub 40 degrees in the AM BRRRRR!!!!. It was brutal but at the same time it was a pretty cool experience.
PSS If you like red neck tunes skip to the 4 minute mark if you prefer no tunes stop at the 4 minute mark I'll post up another vid in a couple of days.

Oh I forgot Dave was also part of the pit crew and he really took one for the team as I forgot the car was in gear and I almost ran him over LOL..........NOT funny
Yep I obviously prefer the "redneck" version as well but some have made it clear that they don't like music or possibly my musical choice on the track vids.
I really need to fix that obnoxious clicking sound.

The old one was from my 1st time at VIR and the green car was a 4 rotor that was making the best sound I'd ever heard. Incredible car. Those old 4 rotor race cars would literally melt the chassis's they'd get so hot.
