I hope that this is being done on an all out race car, if not, it's not going to be really cost effective. Make sure whoever balances the parts does so statically and dynamically. Balancing a rotary engine properly is like chasing your tail in circles, everytime you make remove some mass it will affect the balance of it statically AND dynamically, it's NOT easy.

Well said.
Balancing a rotary engine beyond OEM specs is not an easy task,
Especially for those who don't specialize in it.
It requires redundant & repetitive machine work. It is very time consuming.
Also requires highly specialized and dedicated tooling.
The bob weights, must be specific in design for Rotaries. A well guarded design spec.
Regular bob weights made for other engines will not work, infact attempting to balance w/ clam shell style bob weight will adversly affect the dynamics of the assembly.
The bob weights and their respective placement on the shaft, must exactly simulate the Rotor's weight, center of rotation (woble) and must importantly: orbit.
Short of that, any attempt at balancing and modifying the Counter Weights will most likely end up with a rotating assembly that is worse off than originally.
This goes beyond a science. It's more of an art, and only a very few can do it right.
