Anyone have experience with RaceTech or Ultra-Shield seats ?

I'm thinking if the Ultra-Shield's fit in a "spec Miata" they should fit in 3rd gen ?

There's no way the Ultrashields will be low enough unless you are 5'0" With the bottom of my Sparco Evo on the floor, I've got 0.5" helmet clearance - I'm 5'10". My Spec Miata has much more head room.

That 19.5" measurement for the squab in the diagram, would be a bit tight I'm thinking once you added side mounts. Dimension I seem to recall on the rhs at least, is in the 490mm range sill to tunnel sans carpet, etc.

Must say, seats without shoulder bolsters look truly weird, suppose if you see them often enough, they eventually grow on you.

The ultra shield is setting on a display stand, not part of the seat.

They both will fit. Race tech will be more comfortable and would be the good street and race use. The Aluminum seat is good for short trips.
