Power FC Power Fc idle and fuel cut Problems.
Power Fc idle and fuel cut Problems.
So I installed the power FC and it wouldn't idle at all unless I kept lightly pumping the gas. Now I've got it idling fairly good but the problem seems to be fuel cut. If I give it ANY gas fuel seems to cut completely. I assume this because injector duty goes from like 6% to 0.0%. This is a learning experience for me as I'm trying to learn how to tune and I figured this would be good practice. Anybody know what's wrong or have any tips on how to fix it? I'm stumped
I will tomorrow. I'm just asking what somethings are that could be making it do that. Timing is at -2/-9 and the injector duty is at 6%. It doesn't matter what rpm I'm at, if I give it any throttle input it cut's fuel all together and injector duty goes to 0%. It runs perfectly at idle, 11.7 afr but as soon as I touch the throttle it cuts fuel. I haven't modified the base map other than to get it to idle correctly and imput what size injectors I have.
You can't use the stock FD map on an FC with a 3 bar sensor. 11.7 AFR at idle is not perfect.
You can very easily blow up your engine trying to force the car to run when the map sensor is set up completely wrong.

Actually I don't know, it's the one that comes with your FC adapter kit. Either way, how do I calibrate it because it's reading way too low. It's reading at about 20 to 25 inhg of vacuum when i have about 15 inhg of vacuum.
It is not a FD sensor, it is a 3 bar. You need a datalogit just like the instructions say. It is also not fuel cut. I suggest you stop guessing and take it to a someone that knows what they are doing.

You're right. But I like to do things myself. I believe people need to learn how to do things on there own. If everybody took it to a tuner, eventually there would be nobody left to tune because nobody would have learned how to do it. It's not like experts grow on trees. Now I'm doing this as a learning experience. I've never tuned before but I want to learn. If I blow something up then that's on me and I accept that. I'm not taking it to a tuner, I'm doing this to learn how to tune myself. So any tips you can give me other than "take it to a tuner" would be very helpful. I'm in the process of getting a datalogit
Dang! Banzai was trying to help you out. He asked you to post up a map. In order for advice to be given, especially with a tune, any tuner will need to see a map to see what's going on with the engine while it is running. If you don't have the Datalogit where you can capture and post up your map, you are flying blind. I want to learn to tune cars myself as well. I know I can't successfully tune mine without the proper equipment. I don't want to spend the extra 350 for a datalogit but I am sure going to because, even though I have built several motors and enjoy the process, I don't want to destroy the hard work that went into it. These people will help you on this forum but the reputable ones are sure are not going to give you advice on how to tune your car if they don't know what's happening with the engine. Just my two cents worth.
I know, I keep forgetting to post my maps. I will tomorrow. Thank you for your help Banzai, sorry I've been such trouble. The whole tuning process has me worked up and frustrated. Anyways I'll get the maps up asap.
