To install or not to install

I have a Power FC that I bought a while back. The only engine mods I currently have are a 3" downpipe, high-flow cat and RB Dual-tip cat-back. I also have '99 spec turbos, FMIC and Greddy intake system that I hope to get installed by summer. Should I go ahead and install the Power FC. I've got the interior gutted because I'm reworking the stereo, installing an alarm system and adding a triple gauge pod. What about tuning? Would I be okay running on the default settings until I can get the rest of the mods done and then have a proper tune done?

I'd say go for it! Sounds like by the mods you have you are getting to that point of engine management, and if you have the interior out might as well bolt it in. I'm sure you will like it Audie. Its a very user friendly system. Did you get the Commander and Datalogit to go with?
I'm sure some of the other guys will give some tuning advice.

If you do not have the 3k rpm stumble, do not install the PFC unless you want to run higher than stock boost now for more power. The PC fixes the 3k stumble.

The fact that the PFC allows you to lower the fan temps is enough reason to install one on a lightly modded car. Not to mention that we get better MPG after tuning then the stock ECU ever saw.

Well, based on the above statements I guess I will go ahead and install it. While I only have the stock turbos now I will be installing the '99 spec turbos before long. If I'm not mistaken they do have higher boost, right? As for the 3k stumble, I do have a slight issue there and better mpg is always a plus.

I did get the remote commmander, but not the data logit. What is the function of data logit? Is it worth the additional expense?

the datalogit lets you change specific things that the commander doesnt.. it also is easier to tune on. i have it.. definatley worth it.. but.. if your looking to tune.. you might wanna pick up a wideband and a gauge
