High Impedance Top Feed 1600 w/ PFC

I recently spoke with bruce from FJO motorsports who told me about some bosch 1600cc top feed saturated injectors. This was news to me, but he says you wouldn't need any resistors or drivers to run these with the PFC, does anyone run these or know the pros and cons? I believe he said the were 13 ohm high impedance injectors, sound about right?

link? and flow chart? seems like wild rumors without these. and FYI the injector dynamics injectors already have both 1000cc and 2000cc high imp for use with the PFC.

Was he nice enough to give you a part number or tell you where you can buy them? I have yet to see any high impedence Bosch 1600cc top feed injector on the market.

I made a mistake in my first entry it was Bruce from Five 0 motorsports, and he claims to sell them, I'll have to give him another call and ask for a product link or flow chart etc... I wasn't aware of the injector dynamics injectors, do the 2000cc high impedance work well with the PFC on the secondaries?

I think you made another mistake. They offer a Denso 1600 high impedence, no Bosch on their website.

They also offer the 2000cc, go to the bottom of the page http://www.fiveomotorsport.com/domes...uel-injectors/

One problem is that they are 3" (74mm) tall, standard is 2.5". This can be sorted out, but it is still an issue.

thanks, I think he sells some injectors that aren't listed on his website, but I think your right he must be talking about the denso 1600. Is anyone running these or something similar with their power fc? and does anyone know of(or foresee) any drawbacks with the denso 1600cc high impedance found at the above link such as tunability lag, install etc... other than the hieght? thanks for the feedback guys

Need to be cautions with high imp. high flow injectors. They tend to be rather "sluggish" due to the high pintel and armature mass and the extra area of fuel at pressure. Causes inconsistancy in mapping/AFR. This the very reason the peak and hold injectors exist.

Maybe buy one and test it first...

Regarding Five-O, I have bought from him several times before without disappointment.

Nice injectors but they glossed over the "dead time" and did no comparison. They need a chart revealing cycle response compared to command on and off. Still, pretty impressive to have a 1.5mS response at the pressures and flows.

Regardless the thread was for the ones Five-O carries (Bosch / Denso)

ah good feedback, thanks guys, now I have been told from a few good sources that using peak and hold injectors with an injector driver and a power fc is better than resistors but is still a bandade solution, because you cant tune nearly as accurately as you can with a ems designed for low impedance. I could be wrong but I think that came from RC engineering, I dont think a different ecu is a option for me, so with the power fc what do you guys think is the best setup for my secondaries..

Peak and hold 1600 with a fjo injector driver

or

Saturated 1600 denso's

generally a low impedance injector is able to be controlled better and have better response. and the fjo driver is nice as it allows u to run lower duty cycles for your target but there is tons and tons of people who have rand the 1600 low imp with resistors with no problems at all the fjo is just now getting popular.

1600cc are low impedance.
-they do have more control range because there is no saturation point, but it is not recommended to use with Power FC. Apexi Power FC injector Driver out put is a Saturated signal. You can burn out the Injector Drivers.

..and that would be the exact reason why people install resistors or the FJO driver. It has been done successfully for many many years.

thanks for the feedback, I'll probably just go with the resistors and peak and hold, plenty of good base maps for that.

Bosch high impedance 1600

I just bought these. Direct fit with my old k2rd rail. The motor is currently apart. I will report back when it's up and running.
