so the interface is just a 'passive' one ? no character translation or specific command frame sent to drive the interface (not the PFC but your interface).
Generic interface means that it is only one box for all PFC models. The current version doesn't work with a I²C to RS232 converter nor will any of the further versions.

FC Tune will only work with the Datalogit box or with the FC Tune box.

Ditto that from me, great work! I personally like the new tabs. I think they're easier to quickly move around in vs the two clicks it takes to get to a setting using the menu.

And good job letting you adjust a range of cells. I constantly use that when I'm tuning.

Looking forward to the next release. Sounds like some good features you're working on!

This is absolutely awesome! I don't have a datalogit box (I've been borrowing them from friends for the last few years), so I would definitely be interested in your box if you were to build one.

Just wanted to let you know that there are plenty of people that really appreciate your hard work on this (even if they dont post anything in your thread).

Fast Hatch,
I plan on using a PDA for monitoring engine function hopefully via your program instead of the commander. I have a request that would help if used in this way, I would like to have displayable and audible warnings for different aspects of the engine functions. Possibly redline, boost, water temp, knock reading, wideband O2 afr. I think in order to do it right though you would have to have the settings so that knock or 02 afr would only go be active at certain rpm and loads. That way at cruising and such you wouldn't have a lean buzzer going off. I don't know if this would be possilbe but it would definetly be a nice feature.

Also how is the beta testing on the boxes coming?

Thanks

I can add any kinds of displayable and audible warnings. All values that can be monitored can be used as an condition.

I am on vacation from 08/15 till 09/11 and hopefully i get the box done than. The first version might not have all features but the box will be updateable. That's one of the key features the box has to have. I want to avoid that there are different versions and some version might not work with every PFC model etc. Like the Datalogit where the anti lag sometimes work and sometimes not.

Also every feature has to be testes intensely because the box does real time corrections to the injection and ignition.

I've worked on monitoring yesterday and i have recorded 100,000 samples to make sure that there is not a bug. The project is really time consuming and i try to avoid bugs. I want to release stuff that works and the customer is happy with, not something to make some fast cash.

Wow, this is really shaping up to be an impressive product! If this pans out to be what it seems, I hope you make enough off of it to retire!

Well have a great vacation. I'm sure you can use it!

Here is a screenshot of the monitoring window
It's a splitted view with a channel view (channels selectable) on the right side and map watch, bar graph or line graph on the left side.

There is no Basic, Advanced or Sensors group, you just have to select the desired channels and FC Tune chooses how to query the data with the fastest sample rate.

I take it there will be windows for each field we want to monitor? Analogue looking gauges would be nice too, i think you already mentioned that you would incorporate that later on though.

Are you refering to the individual watch windows in FC Edit?

I was already looking for analog gauges but i haven't found a nice one yet. I hoped that i can avoid to program one myself.

Everything looks great so far! I just downloaded this today, I guess I'm way behind everyone else... 1 thing I noticed:

1) I was unable to cut and paste my fuel map out of the FC Tune and into Excel. I highlighted the whole map and hit "Ctrl + C" and then in Excel "Ctrl + V" but nothing happened. Is there another way or am I missing something?

That's the only thing I noticed, besides that I really REALLY like the layout. Great job!

Copy / Paste is currently disabled for 2 reasons. First, there are some views with multiple grids and the command routing was ambiguous in that case. But that can be easily fixed, i just need to remember which grid has the focus. The second reason is that atleast paste is dangerous in auto update mode. For example if you copy ignition map cells and paste it into your fuel map. I think i will only allow to paste into a single cell and then put the cell into editing mode. You'll have to confirm the value with enter then or could cancel with ESC.

It would definitely be nice to be able to cut and paste in maps, as I know I've done this several times in the past. Maybe one possible workaround would be to actually have a menu item for "Paste Map from Clipboard" or something along those lines, rather than using stock Windows Copy/Paste? The other issue is sometimes it's even nice to copy just portions of a map (like one P-row), select the same portion in the new map and paste. I guess the datalogit guys just got lucky, but all that worked with the controls they had...
