I cut and paste a lot. Excel is what I use when I'm at work to adjust spots and then plug it in when I get home. I've been able to use fc edit at work but it is so much easier to use excel because people don't take a second look at it when they walk by my desk. They just assume I'm going the extra mile!

BTW - This may have been asked before, but can the units be changed for things like temperatures to fahrenheit instead of celsius? Nothing I hate more than having to constantly convert in my head...

Would you be able to update the firmware of the FC Datalogit Box for new features?

Wrong question. I guess it would be possible, but i don't spend several hundred hours to write a new firmware for the Datalogit. That's the task of the makers of the Datalogit.

This is looking better and better Fasthatch. Will the stereo/commander thing you've shown us a sneak preview of interface with the datalogit/fc box or will it be stand alone? If it does what I think it does it'll be almost perfect for my needs.

As mentioned before FC Tune doesn't have Basic/Advanced/Sensor data, only channels.

There are no redundant channels like "Basic Knock" and "Advanced Knock", which are actually the same.

Also you just have to set up the channels once, not every time again for map match, chart or watch.

Map watch is a splitted view with the map on the left and the channel view on the right side (Older screenshot). To change the channel just click on it on the right side. No need to find the channel in the dropdown and enter the max and hold off value again.

In the channel view you can view the current, min, max and avg. value (columns selectable).

The next version with monitoring will be released next week. Sorry that it took so long but i had to compile a list of all channels of all models.

Not sure if this was covered...I couldnt find it. Now on the logging end of it, is there going to be a play back mode. A friend of mine has some F-body data logging software that is amazing. It graphs and plays back the log as if it was in real time. When one of the specs would go out of the safe area the block would change to red. If you dont under stand i might be able to get a demo for you to check out, or I could just be sounding like a fool.

A real time graph as well as play back will be included. You can open your FC Edit or Power Excel log files.

You can specify a color for min and max and then the value will be displayed with a gradient color.

A demo would be great, i'm always looking how others made it.

Just a quick question I've noticed the latest Apexi FC Pro Software and Cable kit that is for retail sale does not work on all PowerFC model's. Notable the older type powerfc's that didn't come with the hand controller bundle or ones that are backdated/old. Here are some that aren't supported by the Apexi FC Pro Software and Cable:

414-n001 unsupported rb26
414-n002 unsupported sr20
414-n003 unsupported sr20
414-n004 unsupported sr20
414-n005 unsupported sr20

does your cable/box have the same restriction? I wonder why they are deemed incompatible. Do you know if any changes were made to the powerfc's to support the "fc pro" interface? Datalogit don't list what models their system works with but my understand is that their software (and yours at a guess?) emulates the hand controller whereas the fc pro may work slightly differently hence the compatibility issue?

Any thoughts, just wondering why they've deemed it incompatible

Not to get off topic but how recent is the release of the FC Pro software and hardware? I was under the impression that Apexi was only allowing certified tuners to get their hands on these.

I think he is refering to the FC Commander Pro software or he got a copy of the FC Pro software somewhere.

The older PFCs had all their own communication packets, that's why we had different Commanders for the PFCs. The later versions have all the same packets, that's why we have a generic Commander now.

FC Tune has a "compatibility layer", that means it is based on the new packets and structures but if the "communication layer" detects an older PFC it automatically translates the packets during read and write operations.

I should be able to ship the first test boxes out next month. The first boxes will not have all features but will be updateable. If you need the box fast you can still buy a Datalogit box and use the FC Tune software.


There is still a lot of work left, logging/replay, settings for models with mass air flow sensor, AT settings, Auto tuning etc. Also FC Tune CE is not finished yet. I guess i have to work till the end of the year to implement all features.

Right now Datalogit is closed untill Sept 10. I believe I would rather have your product anyway. Just have to be patient, but its very tough with all of the stuff you have been showing everyone.

As said before i don't release any stuff that isn't well designed and tested. It doesn't help anyone if i would now start to sell a box with bugs and hardware failures.

I need to get the PCBs (printed circuit boards) done, order the cases, get some boxes tested and then prepare everything for shipping.

Please don't forget that i am doing this currently in my vacation and i have to prepay everything.

This is from www.nengun.com who is a jap parts distributor. The description says:

I would be quite happy to buy it only it comes with japanese manual so there's no english instructions and the software itself is in japanese also so it's hard to read. I would love for apexi to release an english port of the manual and software.

I was merely questioning which models are the cable/dongle suited for as the above software/cable does not work with the older powerfc's I listed a few topic's ago. Love your work FastHatch and can't wait to see a finished product. Just wanted to see if the cable/dongle FastHatch was making had the same version limitations as above
