i have to ask why? at similar horsepower it is absolutely no more reliable than a TurboII 13b, (sr20 at 200 hp is the same as a 13b at 200, sr20 and 500 is same as 13b at 500, get it?) Making power at any level wont be any easier or cheaper either. To swap one would be even MORE expensive than a 13b since the cost of one is ridiculous in the first place and plenty of custom fabrication would be required. The weight is the same (or, from what I've heard, heavier for the SR20). There is no actual advantage i can see, and it won't make you drift better.

Youre not - but higher torque at a given rpm and faster responce (driveability) is what he was going for with his statement, most likely. Also just by design you can run smaller turbos at higher pressure ratios on a piston engine than you can on a rotary. Im sure we also know how rotaries vs piston engines handle knocking, dont we?
Im NOT going to be drifting but Im going with a turbo 4 swap... just not a SR20 - 2.3T is much cheaper and has more displacement.

I work for a Nissan shop here in Indianapolis and its just something I want to do. I did not start this thread to disrespect any of you Rotary guys or the 13B or any of that sort. I have not said it would make me "drift" any better.
All the work will be done by me and I will be paying for this out of "my" own pocket because its something I just want to do. Now I have read and heard that the SR is a lil bit heavyier then what the 13B is. The reason why I dont want the 13B is because simply I just dont "trust it" and have alot of friends that have advise me that they are just not reliable. Now Now I might be wrong and again I am not trying to turn my thread into any negativity whats so ever.
If you have anything you can advise me on this swap or lead me to some more useful information I would greatly appreciate it.
Thank You
Edgar

As far as reliability, well, just use the search button and see how 13Bs act when under boost.

I've owened a 240sx that i swaped a S13 black top SR and i loved it. but where talking about in a FC. I can tell you i beat and i mean beat the hell out of my SR. bigger turbo Power FC with stock head and bottom end and never once did it fail on me. You can do so much to that egine before you need to get it tuned. it was my daily and my drift car making it to more then 7 events accross the USA. i winded up selling it for what i boaught it for. i would choose it over the 13b but then again the rotarypower is so smooth i took my FD out the other night and gave her a little taste of a 60mph third gear drift and i loved the responce.
