SR20det conversion

has anybody ever done an sr20det conversion into their rx7? im looking into 240sx's, but it would be cheaper to do my rx. i haven't found any engine mounts/conversion kits available, would they need to be custom fabricated?? any insight would be appreciated

It's been done a couple of times. Search in this section for sr20det and you'll come up with a few hits.

It's not a bolt-in, you're going to have to fab up the mounts.

if you take the time a effort to make new motor mounts and all the wiring that you will have to do with the underdash harness in the fc... it will be just easyer if you bought a $1,500 S13 Chassie and swap the SR20 in. I've owned an SR20det powered S13 and they are a lot of fun. but if you like the FC body style then by all means go ahead with the rex but it will be cheaper swaping it into a 240sx body. also you can have the SR20 in the 240sx and running in about 3-4 days if you know what your going. i've done the whole swap in one day but thats b/c its so simple and i was doing them for while.
