wow.. that jerkoff is really bustin your *****.. i say go forward.. 7m is a hell of an idea.. far more reliable than the rotary its replacing.. swap on..

btw .. just because its a "truck engine" doesnt mean it wont go fast.. chevy puts its 350 "truck" engine in all the f body cars and most of its trucks and they do just fine .. horsepower is horsepower.. torque is torque.. wise up.. stop believing everything you read in sport compact car..
---------------------------------------------------------------------
"quote"
using a 7M is like using a KA24 instead of a SR20DET ( becuse you think it's better ??)... it's a truck engine in a small lightweight car. smart like stump..

#2 btw.. didnt they use the rotary in a " truck" r.e.p.u I believe it was.. i guess the rotary isnt meant for cars either.. smart guy..

He's just one of the people that is influenced by everyone on the supra forums that thinks the 1jz is god given gift to earth. And is the perfect motor for any aplication/budget. Ohhh by the way my budget is $1000, and I am barly half way there, so I'm doing good. But the clutch is gona eat $350 of it.

no problem.. besides... where the hell are you going to get parts for a 1jz in america?... thats right you have to special order them and wait 3 weeks.. 7m is a far better choice because they acutally come in cars that are in america.. i dont think anyone in japan will be swapping a chevy 350 into there cars ..
A while back i was gonna put a 7m in my datsun 280z but can find a good donor car in my area..
let us know how it goes..

did you get the tranny mounted? you asked in my thread about what i was doign with mine, heres a picture. its 4 peices, i used the stock mount points from the 12a tranny, a peice of angle-iron across the bottom, and some 1/2" steel. that motor DOES NOT move at all...

do you plan to use any rubber in your mount system?

Very creative, but the stock supra mount is to far back for me to go to the stock TII tranny mounts, other wise the tranny mount would be going about 6-8 inchs forward. And part of that is because I had to set the engin back in the fire wall so that I can fit a radiator in there

And yes, I'm going to buy a new stock supra turbo tranny mount. Because the old one is letting the engin move WAY to much. Right now, I can grab the front of the engine and pull it forward and back about 1-1.5 inchs. And that is with mazda competition motor mounts. So we may have to make a couple sets of torque braces, because I emagine that it will ******* like a mother f#cker on take off. Especially witha tripple disk clutch

Also I would guess that the world would hate the most powerful country in the world, you know kind of like social hiararchy.
I would start telling you how ridiculous this is, but all I really need to say is: Learn to spell before using such big words. All your threads turn into flame wars. All of them. Ever stop to think it has anything to do with etiquette?

Well, I got the drive shaft made today, it cost me a lovely $140 bucks, but it fits like a dream, and now has a replacable front universal joint, I can't say the same for the rear, which is the stock TII universal joint.

south park... that's some high end entertainment you live your life by, hell that's practically an art noir film for you and yours. Glad to see the level of mentality of those that swap a truck motor into a 7..

Yup, we say **** canada!

And ohh, guess what, I've decided on my next project.

Once I finish this one, and get another car to do this to, I'm going to put a Catipillar diesel engine into and FB, or FC Just so I can say that I really do have a truck engine, and so that I have a jake brake (also known to Dumb Canadians as and "engine brake" )

OK, that's quite enough personal and nationality attacks for this thread. I would hope that you are all mature enough to discuss engine swaps without acting like a bunch of jackasses.

looks like a decent swap to me.. i own a mk3 supra aswell and the 7MGTE is capable of well over 400hp for a reasonable price. as for calling it a truck engine, this is not true, this has been gone over a million times, and there is no flow charachteristics of the 7M head that make it anything relative to a "truck" engine. the only thing similar is the fact it always puts down more torque than horse power, this is usually because of the turbo size

best of luck with the car, crank the boost up and you'll have a crazy machine on your hands

Well, we are finally tackleing the wireing on the car, and my brother has been working on it for the part two days, and is about to start intigrateing the two wireing harness (the big interior harness's under teh dash).

Sooooo, if I get the money to buy the radiator, and throw out beaing kit (for the OS Giken clutch) we will be trying to start it pretty soon.

I still stand by the point that a rotary is only reliable with an owner educated and responsible in building the engine.

That being said, I think it was a wise decision for you to swap to an engine that is more tolerable of mistakes.

None of my rotaries have ever left me stranded, from a stock ported 6 port, to a single turbo large streeport running 280 hp staged nitrous, to my current engines. Your inability to run a powerful rotary comes from your ignorance, and not a problem with the engine.
