And let me correct my self about Original car guys keep the original engines in the car ,I want it to say that keep the same brand of motor in the car like a 2JZ in a starlet, corrola or camry. or 383 stroker on any chevy or 454 on any chevy.
that's what I ment to say.

LS1 are great engines great cars that came with them too.but I haven't seen a RX-7 do better with a LS1 in any road race or track than with the 13B and if there is one show me please.
My apologies. I did misread one of your comments. Even I make mistakes and that was a big one.

Original car guys are a different branch of "Real Car Guys". I could care less about keeping the engine and chassis, the same manufacturers. Why limit yourself on what you can do?

I remember a thread from 2 years ago about a guy who did an LS1 FD and road raced it. A friend of his who had a rotary RX7 raced it while he was still tuning the suspension in, and the rotary owner thought that the LS1 car would be faster than his rotary once the suspension was figured out. Unfortunetly I don't have that thread link anymore from this section so I have no definitive proof. However, I can say that if you are not a GREAT driver on a track, the LS1 can make up for a few weaknesses in your driving.

For instance, if you constantly have trouble rev matching, or finding the right gear to be in, the torque and complete powerband of a V8 will make up for it, since you don't have to spend your time in the upper stratosphere of your RPM range(and in boost at the same time). You can be in 3rd gear in a slower speed corner and still power your way through and out of a corner with a V8, than you could with say a turbo SR20 or rotary turbo, if your RPMS aren't in optimum range. My V8 makes more power at 2k rpms, than my SR20 does at 3500 as an example.

I wouldn't be so hard on yourself. Its hard to accurately read posts that are written with 3rd grade level grammar.

I can't believe this thread is still going, we couldn't get this **** closed if we tried. Half of the stuff posted in this thread is completely ******* irrelevant to the topic, and the rest is just retarded.

I think we come to a conclusion finally that the LS1-9 will be the best swap.

and is not irrelevent the only problem I notice is that no one that owns one have help much in the topic.

I'm waiting for my 13b to pop before tackling the swap in my FD, and also funds are being allocated to the C5 right now (it's at Orange County Corvette) for Meth injection, Intake Manifold, and a couple other mods. Once the rotary goes, I'll be looking for a replacement.

oh man just sell your rotary before it pops so you can get the most $$$$ out of it to fund your LS1 swap.

it is true too, almost every rx7 sold on ebay that is in anything near good condition will almost always mention that there is a fresh rebuild in the engine bay.

now you almost never see that with other cars.

but of course the rotary is SO reliable and amazing because it only has 3 moving parts. hmmm, after disassembling my 13B, I was shocked at their being 3 moving parts that were made up of 1000 parts, so its really 3 moving assemblies of 1000 pieces, each piece as delicate as a hymen at band camp.

If you don't know what you are talking about, you probably shouldn't open your mouth to remove all doubt.
Its a proven fact that Sr20 motors arnt very powerful. why do you think you never hear of any drag racing?

I think the worlds fastest SR20 powered vehical is only doin high 12's. pretty sad fact jack.

my buddy got a red and black top motor and made a magenta top SR27. it was pretty sick and sounded awesome, but it wasnt much faster than his stock TT FD.

SR motors = big time loss. Sucks, i like nissan too.

as for the rest of ya, shut up.

Well I would never swap... I also never had an engine(Rotary) problem and I have owned two, so that said I do like SR20DET or any Nissan engine. I am not so hot on the LS1. It is a great engine it is just... well in a rx-7 it is a poor mans Corvette in my mind (sorry). It will always be up to the owner so go crazy.

You don't know **** about SR20 powered 240sx's. Why don't you go and exit the thread while you haven't lost complete respect from any of the car people here.

My S14 SR20 powered S13 is just as fast as my FD with identical mods. If I threw a stroker kit in that S13, it would be WASTING my FD.

damn i cant believe you guys take it to these lengths, 13 pages of your time and effort about arguing over 3 engines, all of which are great engines. depending on what you like/are looking for are totally personal preference, this thread surves a purpose, but only to a certain extent. get over it.

Fastest SR20 vehicle in the world running a low 7 second 1/4 mile. You're right. They can only do high 12's.
