wow okay so I went back and read the entire thread, wow.

Eat_Pez, man I have to commend you on your posting of facts and at leats trying to answer questions accurately and without bogus opinionated blabber mouthing.

jimlab, I have to say I really do enjoy some of your posts in this thread, very entertaining and creative while being on point and correct about so much, well done.

ReTed, if you can score deals on rotary parts why not believe you can do the same for LS1 parts? over time I only see the LS1 getting more abundant and less expensive and remember these motors available are relatively new compared to 13bs from the late 80s

I havent even modded my LS1FCs motor and it is one hell of a sick fast roadcar. I mean come on, Ive hit 160mph and the thing pulls like a monster in every gear, it is just wild. without a drive in an LS1rx7 most people have no idea on the entire feel of the car and how amazing it truly can be. whether youre into stripped out race setups or a beautiful and pristine street cruiser with a/c, p/s and a comfy interior, the LS1 has no problems doing either setup justice.

and for all of the LS1-haters, come on, at least give it some credit, the LS1 is ALL METRIC nuts and bolts, and it fits so nicely within the RX7 chassis.

Wow haha

Well first off I did not “cut up” the GTUs, I parted it out to pay for my wedding. Secondly did you not see the smiley face at the end of my post? Can’t you take a rib-jab from another gear head. Why do you have to be so defensive all the time? Tell me, were you not hugged enough when you were a child?

So thats not a challenge? Dude..you really are stupid.

How about you both STFU and instead of filling up this thread on BS personal sh*t you handle it via PM or some other means and let some intelligent conversation take place here. I have nothing i can post on this thread because any point i may have had has already been covered.

And fc3s91 you sound like a real douche

This will prolly spark another arguement but its all good, I like educating the dumb. I don't know how many posts on here are made about people blowing up rotaries, whether it be from not caring for them right or who knows what other EXCUSE you guys will come up with. Bottom line is the 13b motor is the weak link in the RX7. The car itself is amazing, handles top notch, and is beautiful...but is completely unreliable which is why they stopped importing them here. Swapping in a 20b will get you more power, but with that power comes alot more weight(ls1 will end up at around the same weight as a 13b), and also ontop of the weight, you still have to deal with reliability issues. I LOVE hearing them say, "who cares how long it will last, it will be fast till then". Thats just completely ridiculous. Also, you can say all you want about a 13 or 20b being faster than an LS1.Its complete bullshit. Motor to motor a 13b/20 doesnt stand a chance in hell, turbo for turbo- the same applies. There are people daily driving 800+hp turbo Ls1s around and actually putting miles on them. Show me one 800hp rotary thats daily driven and actually lasts.

Swapping an LS1 has absolutely no negative side effects(unless you consider torque a side effect) and corrects all of the RX7s downfalls. You guys can talk all the **** you want but what I said is FACT not fiction.

Theres no need to go off on a misguided tangent. Theres nothing you can say that will influence any real CAR guy who actually has a clue(not rotary head) that the 13b or any b is more reliable or a better design than the LS1.You just like every one else who talks **** about LS1 swaps really have no idea what your even talking about. Your guesses(which is what they are) are far from acurate.

Its funny how all of you who talk about them have never owned, built or driven one of these cars. 99% of the people who have LS1 swapped cars once owned a rotary and was tired of the car breaking down, I myself included. I can't tell you how many threads I see with people wanting to swap the rotary motor out as fast as possible because it just keeps breaking-whether it be, again, from unexperience or lack of care.(ls1s were made to beat on and keep going)

Go on LS1tech and show me ONE post where someone wants to swap an LS1 out for a rotary, or even show me one where someone has swapped out a 13b for an LS1 then swapped back---you wont find a single one, so until you do you should research a little more before typing words that just make you look like an idiot to the people who actually know whats going on.
Hey Snyper since u r Anti-Idiot why did u choose a RX-7 and put a LS1 on it???
Was the Camaro not good enough for you???
Just a another dumb quenstion of mine. MR anti idiot.

My opinion is just mine, but if u whant to put a disel motor on a RX-7 or any f... engine than that's fine but I think that idiots are the ones that don't know crap about rotaries and how to make them reliable.not comparing with the LS1 we all know that the engine can last millions of miles.

Real car people keep the original engine in the Car.
And hayabussa guy how in hell can u say that getting 500 Hp from that motor is cheaper than 500 Hp on a rotary.??? can u show me how u came up with that cause Ill like to buy something with those numbers with only 1300 cc.

And for the original Post Ill go with the SR20 since not many people have done it yet.

I have to respond to this ignorance. Besides the engine, and RWD, name the other differences between Camaro's and RX-7's. Can you do it? I can. 600+ lbs of weight, handling, physical size, and looks. The Rx-7 beats the Camaro in all of these categories. The only thing it can't beat the Camaro in, is reliability, motor-wise. The LS1 takes that reliability, and makes the Rx-7 better, without compromising it's advantages of weight, handling, size, and looks.

Real car people keep the original engines in their cars? What about those of us putting SR20's in our 240sx's even though our cars came with KA24E/DE's? What about guys who put 13b-REW's in FC's and FB's? Or 13b's in Miatas? What about the AE86 hatchback that has a 20b in it? What about the guys who put 20b's in their FD's? What about the Australians who put frankenstein engines(RB30 anyone?) in all sorts of cars? Real Car People love working on cars, and trying to either make them better, or make them fit how they personally want them to be.

As for 500hp in an LS1 being cheaper than a Rotary... It's just a cam, Heads and Headers away from it. Or you can turbo/supercharge it, without needing to do those mods. 500rwhp on only 7-8psi is quite fun let me tell you...

You got it wrong not 500 Hp from LS1 but from a Haybussa motor that's what the other guy said.1300 cc and get 500 Hp for cheaper than rotary and 500 HP.

And let me correct my self about Original car guys keep the original engines in the car ,I want it to say that keep the same brand of motor in the car like a 2JZ in a starlet, corrola or camry. or 383 stroker on any chevy or 454 on any chevy.
that's what I ment to say.

LS1 are great engines great cars that came with them too.but I haven't seen a RX-7 do better with a LS1 in any road race or track than with the 13B and if there is one show me please.

But I guess if u whant to make the 7 reliable and diferent Ill go with the sr20. we all know that V8's are fast.I had the chance to ride on a V8 FD with 700 HP and cool is f... fast I also had the chance to ride on a FD with 500 Hp And didnt felt the diference because the factor is not how much torque u have or how big the motor is but if u can put the Hp to the ground and the only thing We can argue is reliability and Ill hand the down to the LS1 and SR20.I hope u are happy know.and don't forget this is just My OPINION!!!!!!!!!
