this is my south african built, last of a rare breed s4 rx2 ( genuine )
( i am an aussie ! )
i have had this car since 1990

and its 100% owner built, fabbed and painted in all its configs over the years
( and daily driven till mid 2004 )
currently under a very comprehensive body resto that is currently in the final panel work stages

there was much pain in undoing the last half dozen paint and bog its !

some old photo's, photo'd

foot note:

there are parts stamped 77 and 78 ( and made in South Africa )
the first rego is 1980.

Rx2 completed the longest old school production run (1971 to 1978)
in Japan.
[ this car is crate assembled so true assembly hints to 1979 ]

WRAY ..sliding vane positve displacement supercharger, mid 90's

AQUA paint job 2004
[img=http://img113.imageshack.us/img113/8894/aquablu0sm.th.jpg]

bionic blu 2K protec 606

off the gun finish

many hidden refinements and improvements to the RX2 under this lot.
all steel repairs.
all back to metal the hard way

much refab of boot, windscreen tray and inner and outer rear arches
all water paths and channels improved, refined and glass coated.
engine bay seam smoothed

lots more work to go

captain blunt fingers would like to give thanks to Wayne from ALA detailing
this time round i let him do the gun work, i am the amateur
-he is a real pro !

thanks Wayne. just stop drinking my stubbie.

after 4 years, the replaced and reworked panels are finally hanging on the car !
bootlid was the only good panel re-used !

the motor pictured BTW is my own built 6port/ s5 turbo hybrid
with highflow turbo, light fly, microwreck ECU and customised turbo inlet manifolds
and has more than 100 000 km daily and occasional strip work in that config
( with 12at rx7 gearbox and hilux ute diff )

i may just build another on the side , in anticipation that this one is tired

This is the factory color of this 1976 Mazda RX3. Mazda calls it tan.

scan the NZ and Australian independent forums for bargain OE sized wheels
- your dollar conversion is good to make the freight pay
and the market there flooded and cheap with these wheels

for a while, they where worth more as scrap alloys !

PS
i am keeping my 14 x 6.5 ( 4 x 110 PCD )
ultra light weight, 3 piece construction
Ray's engineering Volk racing ( artisan spirit ) wheels

-thanks
