Turbo RX-8 Dyno

This is an overlay of our RX-8 turbo kit on a baseline incomplete tune @ 11 PSI Vs. a stock configuration. It is a top mounted GT35R with a custom garrett intercooler Cobb AccessPORT & supporting mods.

We are in the process of ironing out small inconsistencies but will have a finished product in the near future.

This run was at 60% throttle as we were gradually adding load until we ran into a fuel issue...

That's a nice curve. What do you think the reliable limit is with this turbo on this engine? Could you post a new graph in the earlier rpm ranges? I looks like it's spooling pretty quick. I may be purchasing an AUTO S2 later this year (tired of daily driving manuels). That power level is exactly what I'm looking for. Nothing crazy but more than enough torque for street driving.

We are very pleased with the curve, and I believe it could be improved with a smaller compressor wheel and run a few more psi. I think a reliable limit for pump gas only( no AI) is 350rwhp. 400+ could be reliable on e85, but that would take a completely new fuel system. We will post a new graph once we get a full throttle, completed tune run. It spools about as fast I as I think is really necessary, you are rarely below 3k rpms in these cars, and anytime above 2000rpms and more than 25% throttle shows positive pressure. We did an overlay vs a 3076R low mount rx-7 and the boost curve is really close. This is a 6 port manual, but we have the aux ports wired shut, so its basically the same engine as the 4 port autos. We think after ironing out the tune and keeping the same boost pressure it will do 330rwhp. This is on pump alone, it does have AI, we just haven't turned it on yet.

We have another auto we built with a different turbo we should be hitting the dyno with shortly too...

Biggest thing we are trying to achieve is a reliable turbo system. The greddy turbo kits are falling apart, just last week we had one in with a cracked manifold.

This car has the BHR ignition kit.
