Looks like I have these on my IDA 48

120 Idle Jets - (70F10)??? are these the idle jets ???

200 Main Jets (205F9 whats this?, you can see in the pictures that the main jets have 3 numbers on them i assume that 200 are the main jets but what does the other 2 numbers means ? the 205 and F9 that is.)

Here are the pictures inside the carb I got following the instructions that mazda83 gave me:

the one that says "205" is your air jet. you should change it to say 150...rule of thumb: minimum 50 increments difference between air and main jets (ie, 150 air, 200 main).

now take pix of the carb without the gasket and on the top cover, remove the large banjo bolt.

The f9 is the emulsion tube. The lower the number the richer the tube. It should run ok with the f9. Since you have a stock 12aport, you may want to run a f11, but the emulsion tubes are expensive. Just run the f9's for now. What size are the chokes? This is what will help in determining jet sizing. For a stock 12a I would keep it on the small size or you will have no bottom end. Use a 38-42 choke. On the idle jets the 70 size that you have may be a little too big-rich. You may want to try a 60 or 65 size. Don't worry about carb mods until you port the motor.

I need to learn how to remove the chokes from the carb to measure them.

I will order 38 Chokes

170 main
130 air
65f10
300 needle

depending what size are the chokes in the carb, maybe I dont have to order any chokes at all if the ones i have are between 38-42:icon_tup

jay one of the stacks is a bit lose and dont want to get tight like the other one, do you know what may be causing this problem ? does it matter if it is not tight like the other one? thanks

there is a clip on the side of stacks that you pry out to keep it from moving

this will give you a few ounces of extra gas

this will eliminate the bottleneck @ inlet

It's really easy to remove your chokes. You have the later model 48IDA and use the pump squirters with the o=rings. AS you can see in Mels pics, his has the squirters that are screwed down. Ok this is how you do it. Pull both of your squirters out with a pair of pliers- just gently pull up and wiggle back and forth. The only thing holding them in is a rubber o-ring. Make sure you don't loose the little o-rings. Next step grab your Aux venturies and pull straght up. They should come right out. They are held in with a little spring tab is all. After that just reach down and slide your chokes up and out. Voila!

start with a 40. just bring your old venturies to a machine shop and have them bore it out instead of buying a new one.

Little update:

Changed my skinny rear tires with these MT Sportsman I on panasports 13x7 wheels, I will have to get another wheels like 13x5.5 or 13x6 because I dont like the look of the wheel/tire coming out from the fender

It doesnt look that way in the vid because of the angle of the car but they do come out of the fender and rub with the fender when I turn the car in any direction and they are damaging the tires

Also can you guys tell whats the chattering noise that comes out from under my hood? I cant really figure out whats making that sound

Updates:

1. Installed this battery box to secure the battery in the rear.

2. Finally got my tach , I really love how it looks

3. Went to the track again and my best time was 16.2 but unfortunately the tach was not installed properly(I didnt know I just had to clip the blue wire instead of the blue + brown lol) so I was getting a wrong reading of the RPMs.

I dont know why my 60ft are so crappy even with the MT's on the rear
