I Need Your Advice...oem Or Riced Izzout?
Hey guys..Ive been seriously losing sleep over this. I ve been working dligently on my 77 rx-3 sp and its coming to thatnksgiving and winter. meaning i will actually be getting quite a bit of time off from work. but its coming to the point that after going to the pans ams i dont know if i want to keep it original or swap a 13bt gut it out and make iy a very nasty street car. the price to rebuild my 12a plus a little more i could get a 13bt from an importer plus im pulling it n e ways. Ive seen some of your guys' here in the forum and frankly im kinda jealous.help.erik

I said keep it stock, but at the same time i would do up a 13b for it and make it go
keeping it looking stock.
this is what i did with my rx2 i have all the stock motor and trani but under the hood its
a supercharged 13b with a 5spd trani, looking at the car it looks stock.

I relocated my battery to make room for a turbo later on, so that'll tell you my thoughts. I like the idea of keeping the body nearly stock with an updated drivetrain and suspension. I'm running hardlines for EFI so I can put together a Megasquirt for RX-2 v 3.0, and will throw on the turbo for 4.0. I'm also a stickler for an original interior, so cleaning everything up is taking a good bit of my project's time.
Another idea that I'm playing with is ordering a tall aircleaner for my Weber IDA and cutting a clean opening in a spare hood for it to breathe through, but it's all your call, man.

thats hwta ve been thinking . the interior is super clean like you wouldnt believe but the exterior ive been putting in work( i need to shoot the updated pix to my other thread) what im thinking is a 13bt with the t2 tranny inc. the rear end the only hthing i see coming as a problem is the suspension issues for the rear a long with the front. i wqas also thinking if i do go ahead with the swap adding a t2 scoop on the hood but as far as the rest keeping it stock...erik

i had alot of fun in my all stock rx2, however, its sold now. and i plan on a stock exterior and paritally stock interior, and lots of non stock sparts all over. hahahahahha but really it jsut depends on what you want to use the car for. BTW i voted on the beer and gold diggers.

Just get a stock TII engine and bump the boost a little. Maybe a mild streetport. I would imagine that 250 wheel horsepower in a tiny *** RX-3 would be plenty enough for a "mean street car." No need to import any motors....

the curbb weight is exactly 3055 lbs. and i have both bumpers off(and am not plannig on running w/ them plus i think if i gut interior and sell that will help with some of the funding fo r the motor and the suspension i have no clue on where to start maybe the first gen swap on the front and for the rear i know i would want something strong so im thinking the whole t2 setup from front to back. my s4t2 is quick but i want the same on my 3 not only for the weight but its an SP and old skool is more gangsta n e ways. KEEP THE PIX COMING!!!erik(jealous)

ya that does sem heavy unless hea talking about a second gen.
i would go NA as well. as far as putting the entire 2nd gen suspension in good luck, why not jsut buy parts that fit? they are still out there.
keep your intrior, its doesnt weigh that much and it looks nice with it in.

i was talking about what the number plate on the door jam says the curb weight is. my t2 is around3500 lbs.(going from what the number plate ont he door jam says)... I would like to move with the suspension from my t2 b/c i just recieved hks coilovers from a member that i bought and my suspension i have on the car is right herre and available..I know i will have to make plates for the top of my strut towers as the 2 gen has a 4 bolt strut and rx3 doesnt. I know how to weld and have a snap-on welder at the house so im not to worried about having to make, and fab. up stuff. But Ive never done this before and am getting tremendous insight from u guys.but as far as the 2nd gen suspension, this is not a definate just ideas floating in my head still. thanks for the pix13brx3 on the struts.-erik
