Help me select what rotor housings to use

I bought two 13B FC NA 6-port engines(not sure how to identify each if S4 or S5 engines)

One the owner changed to a non rotary engine in his FC Rx-7...bought it for around 200dollars(.0015 inch deep wear on the side, also wear at the center)

And the second one is a water flooded engine and was sitting for years untouched...bought it for 100dollars(little wear at the edge and no wear at the center but due to being water flooded...one of the rotor housings has chrome that is flaked even the metal part is eaten away by corrosion around 1.5mm at one edge also heavily corroded coolant ports and one even has eaten thru the exhaust port..but I think i can TIG weld it...around 4mm hole

I dont know what to choose and use

So I want to build one out of the two
Heres the video showing my 4 rotor housings...

I will say it if no one else will. You should try to get better ones. I have built engines expected to go 50 miles to get someone home. Other ones out of scrap to test an idea, or maybe to last a couple auto-cross races. I know what will work. The most critical area is where the compression builds. That's at the top. You want the engine to start. An automatic needs better housings than a manual. If you use those housings ,don't spend any more money than necessary and don't expect too much. Pick out the ones with the best compression area. Put it in something like a first gen thats easy to work on.

Thanks for the reply...so a chipped off chrome and metal at the bottom part of the rotor housing is better? since its not in the compression area? even if its 3 mm from the edge and 1 to 1.5mm deep?

yes, you have to be able to get it started. maybe you could build something for racing and let it be for practice in porting and building.

Thanks Regarding porting...I want to bridge port this 6 port 13B-DEI...I have a bridge port porting template for the 13B-REW...can I somehow use this template as a guide as to where the additional hole should start and end the least? Thanks again for the replies As much as possible i dont want to buy a porting template for an engine that I will just play with and start using megasquirt
