I've wondered if it would be possible to fill the o-ring groove in the 2nd gen housings with Lab Metal to build a 13B 4 port 1st gen engine. From what I've read, doubling up the o-rings doesn't work. If the Lab Metal works, we could have many more 1st gens with with 13Bs, carbed or FI. One would need to be very precise with the finished surface of the Lab Metal but it might be worth the effort.

im sure almost anything would work. I heard of guys using a high temp silicone or RTV in there, but i need the opposite really. basically gsl-se housings. But they are getting older, more rare, and more exspensive.
If we can add water jacket grooves to FC/FD housings, or add a PP exhaust on the renesis housings, there would be much more options going around. Im working on both... but both seem to be a lot of trouble.

This product looks to fit the need for filling the o-ring groove in the 2nd gen housings. If it survives the heat cycling of an engine, then we can build many more 1st gen 13Bs. Now we just need a decent 13B after market 4-port intake.
