Xtreme Auto Salon = Extremely Slow Salon

Yea, umm I wouldnt really recommend XAS unless you have a **** load of time on your hands. They do great work don't get me wrong, but their customer service is really going down the drain. I've given Kelly 3 deadlines to meet, but my cars' still in the shop. It's been in the shop since August 10th as a matter of fact. I mean on tv I've seen whole cars being put together in a week. Really i dont think a v-mount should take that long.

A friend of mine came in wanting a flange welded for his BOV. After about a week my friend checked in to see if they were done, nope. So he wanted to just take the job elsewhere, but they finally decided to do the work which took them no time at all.

I've been patient for many weeks, but seeing how theirs really no progress and that I'm being lied to doesnt cut it with me.

They are just a tad slow, but i've never had any problems with them... i've taken 3 cars there and no complaints here. They haven't had too many rx7s go through there... mine was one of them.

I was expecting this done already! What gives! No excuse for poor and untimely service. Shouldn;t take a month for an expirienced shop to do a V-mount. Heck, it shouldn't even take an unexpirienced person with some motivation to do it!

Yep I still have all that stuff. One of the workers at XAS said a friend of his wanted to buy the TMIC, but it's probably still sitting their. I also have the piping for the hot side of the turbo with a Gen 1 Blitz BOV available.

Oh and shut up kettlebutt, lol.

How much for the top mount and piping? Right now i have an fd tmic and since its slightly different, its not bolted down and is just held in place by the piping. I want to eventually get an old school trust fmic, but that's after i get all the little stuff fixed.

Hey if you are ever feeling in the dumps about how long it is taking just remember that my street bike was in the paint shop for over 7 months. I eventually had to go in and do some of the work myself.

Good luck getting the car back this century!

I could tell you far worse stories than about other places than a car being in the shop for a month.

As much as i would love to work on my car i cant. I dont live in a place with a my own garage. I've already gotten in trouble for replacing my turbo.

As far as pricing goes for the mentioned items. I'm asking $50 for everything. TMIC, hot pipe to the turbo, couplers, and clamps.

I have two hot pipes one with a bov and one stock without.

If you want the hotpipe with the bov im asking $110 + $40 for the tmic, couplers, and clamps.

Alright guys and gals, I have another story to tell. This happend during the Global Import Car Show on Saturday. Anyways A friend of mine whos apart of Project 1 showing his offroad subaru found Kelly and exchanged a few words with him. He herd how long it took Xtreme to complete their shop car, which was only 2 weeks.

My friend made sure a lot of people were around before talking to Kelly about my cars v-mount project. He said, I herd that it 's been about 2 months so far and your still not done." "Maybe you guys can be more professionals about it and get it finished." "Why is his car on the back burner?" Kelly was acting like he didnt know what my friend was talking about. He said, "What you talking about, what v-mount?" My friend said, "don't you have a white rx7 at your shop?" Kelly said, "no, I have no idea what your talking about."

When i herd this i couldnt believe it. They also fuxed up my radiator. They forgot to clean it first before welding on it, so it started pitching in. I'm serious guys if you don't want to be treated like **** then don't go to Xtreme.

I was going to have Xtreme lower my car with the racing beat lowering kit. They took it to the back shop area, opened the hood, and were honest enough to tell me what needed to be done. They told me it would take a couple of days if I decided to have them do it. They were very honest with me in telling me that they had never modded this type of lowering kit on a 7. They also didnt feel comfortable doing it, but said they would anyway. So I decided to take it to someone that was more familar with modding the kit on my car.

I also ordered some gauges from them, and got very prompt service. Everyone in that shop was pleasant. They admitted to me they were not that familar with rx7's. Seemed honest enough.

I know how frustrating it gets waiting on something, and deadlines. When Mike built my motor it took him longer than expected. Did Mike meet the deadline? Yes, barely, as he delivered it the night I was moving. What some of us don't understand is that some of these shops are swamped with other cars. I'm even guilty of being impatient.

Have you talked to them about your car? I would go in and talk to them, and if they havent started on your car, I would go elsewhere. If they messed up your radiator, then I guess they will be fixing it.

I've given them about 4 deadlines. I've missed functions that i wanted to participate in. Usually when a shop agrees to a deadline they finish it on time.

Though i have to agree that they do good work and that there pleasant people. Just again meeting a customers deadline whos paying good money for the work should finish it on time. I'm about to go in their and pay for 5 hours of work and leave.

Did you set a price when you went in their...ie quote. I would not pay more than 5 hours of work. A fully competent experienced place should be able to create a v-mount in that amount of time.

My thoughts exactly. Even though i never got the quote down on paper. I have a verbal agreement with Kelly. We will see, tomorrow I plan on heading to the shop. I need to take some photos of their products for da site. While I'm there ill have them print me a quote. Then i can take a look at what they havnt been doing, SWEET!
