so on my fb, i put the engine and tranny in, hooked up the drive-shaft, put back on the heat shields, put the dizzy on.

still missing some stuff and still need to put together my intake (stock sa with emission delete),
and my Racing Beat full exhaust.

then go from there.

I replaced the shift bushings in my 86 GXL. Actually, I use the word "replaced" loosely, because the shop that repaired my transmission (several years ago) did not install any bushings.

I think I broke my FC today. Parked it at a friends, went to drive it home and it cranks but no start. Tried de-flooding with no success. The biggest part that concerns me is the fact that I cant hear the compression stroke very well.

pull your leading plug from one rotor pull egi fuse, and crank listen for 3 comp strokes should be equal whooshes. should be loud, put plug back in check other rotor.

If you call it quits and sell it swap me rims first.

I cussed at it. I've never had to replace the beehive o-rings until now (or at least I never took the time). I'm tired and I can't figure out how to get the dang thing off.

yeah, I feel like cussing at mine. I spent the day bleeding the brakes after it got all new stainless lines, slotted front rotors and hawk pads, doing the rears next. got all the air out but master cylinder is junk.... so gonna swap it out tomorrow and try again.... I knew there was a problem with the brakes but I thought they just needed to be blead. that was the problem the first time. I get pressure in the pads but not in the peddle. just goes to the floor. But my project should be running soon. maybe by the end of the week.

BTW the bolts are under the behive. theres a write up in the first gen section. I did one along time ago but don't remember exactly how i got it off. I may have done it from under car with an extention and wobble, but couldn't say for sure. I just know there under the bee hive. you have to drain the coolant ect. Also get a fsm from foxed.ca just google that and rx7 you'll find it. But if its a 12a thats the hardest thing to do on it. other than that your golden!

Thanks for the tip. I'm downloading the FSMs now. You're right. This is the easiest car (for the most part) to work on. I'm on my fourth first gen and I learn new things all the time.
