Took the FD for a test drive tonight with the new Carbonetics differential and KG 4.77 gears.

All works great!

No new noises, no gear whine.

Whoohoo!

Yeah, I'm excited.

Notice any faster acceleration? more torque? shorter gears? more shifting?

I drove it just hard enough to make sure it all worked.

More torque at lower speeds? Definitely - that's why I did the 4.77.
This car mostly sees autox action, and an occasional track day.
Got a trip permit so I could drive it on the road long enough to road test and break in the diff.

See it in action at the SCCA autox at PIR this weekend.

Fun? Yep!

Cookies? Probably not.

Re:

Got my new NGK plug wires and plugs in today from rx7store.net. Jacked the car up, unhooked the accelerator cables and removed the 4 10mm acorn nuts that hold the intake pipe on the TB. Removed the 4 12mm bolts on the TB and thats when things really started to get fun...

Apparently, there is coolant hose that is attached to the TB which is nearly impossible to get off and the TB wont come off with it still attached. In the process of trying to get the TB off I managed to break my TB gasket so I will need one of those now.

The best part about this adventure was that after I finally got the TB off I grabbed the spark plugs only to see the letter "T" on all four of the plugs! So I've had my 7 now for 2 weeks and it is already out of commission, jacked up in my garage.

So, guess now that the TB is off is there anything I should do to it. Like spray it down and clean it up with some solvents or something? On another note, during this procedure I also noticed that one of my vacuum hoses is cut off. The hose runs to a small black clip/module of some sort next to the brake cylinder. Useful?

Yea, I'm just curious how much different it is than stock? Shifting and torque, gears should come faster? What is stock ratio?

More torque at lower speeds should make doing donuts easier...

See you at PIR Sunday, ahh, but it might rain... Having fun is all that matters, well.. and winning.

Made bruce a OMP blockoff plate + downpipe gasket + mailed it.

Washed my FD yesterday. You can see the dent from the tree limb. (!$%!$%$!!!!!!!!!)

Looked at Tangosharks new vert. Found it needed lots of love and mainly a waterpump. Another fun project . (Anyone else need help? Haha, I is broke.)

Found a new suspension temporarily for my FD while the Teins are rebuilt!

Fired up the FC today!!!
After working on building it from the ground up interior and all, the motor is built, in, and running!!
For now it is a Large street/race port S5 NA block with Turbo exhaust sleves, 2 piece apexs, hardened sides, solid corners, viton oils, high oil pressure oil system, Exedy clutch, RB header to 3" strait pipe to AM muffler. And some other **** I can't think of right now.
Plan on Building the S5 turbo motor for it eventually, but that takes time and money.
So after the fresh rebuild kept flodding on me I finnally got it fired up and man does it sound wicked!! All I can say is I can't wait til after breakin to get this thing goin!! I will post a few pics soon.
