secondaries flooding, got any ideas?

ok, I am having an issue with my secondaries flooding, even after I shut the car off. I have checked the silenoid and it works. The car runs great when running. But if you let it sit for even fifiteen minutes then go back to start it, the secondaries are flooded. I am lost on this car. Should I just buy a new carb, cause I am not rebuilding this one, too much work, or does anyone here have a clue about how to maybe fix this issue. The secondaries are filling almost completely up with gas and leaking out onto the engine. I know how to unflood the car already, and it will start fine at first when I unflood it, but like I said as soon as I shut it off the secondaries flood again.

I have looked and searched through the forum for this issue, but the only one I found was about a second gen with a first gen engine swap, mine is a stock first gen, with a 12A and rats nest removed.

pretty easy, especially if you removed your rats nest. just some screws on the top. then pull the top base off. the floats are attached to that. try tapping the top with the end of a screw driver first. sometimes they stick open. the sudden jar can let them loose. good luck.

I have done the tapping thing many times and works that time, but it back to the same ol thing, so I think that maybe they just need fixing. Anyone got a picture of where they are located and how many screw to take out, looking at the top of my carb I see about 10 and I am assuming not all have to come out.
Thanks for the help.

I have called almostevery automotive store in town and noone can get floats for this particular carb, but they have tried to sale me a new carb for 600.00 LMFAO. Anyone here have one laying around they are not using that works, I will buy it so it long as it is reasonable. Free would be great. I know where I can buy another rx that runs great for 300.00, if noone has a carb, I might just buy that one steal the carb and sale the car.

you won't need new floats. just take them off and clean them (unless they are full of gas, had that happen once). they probably just have some build up on them . and yes, i do believe it is 10 screws. the whole top comes off as one.

If I take the ten screws out, will a whole bunch of parts come out? Do I need to be careful when taking off to be sure nothing flies out? I have never taken the top of a carb off before, I just do not want a bunch of lost parts and then end up having to buy a new carb. Or trying to figure out what went where cause it fell off when I took the top off. Thanks for the info and help.

You could also possibly have a fuel tank venting problem.
