new law brah. The cop I talked to said anything louder than stock is a nono. Basically, if they think it's too loud they can ticket you. Think about a srt-4. They don't sound stock from the factory with the burbly exhaust etc. New law is kinda fucked. . .
edit: we go drive this weekend yeah?

Its not new by far. Been in print for a while. Any modification to amplify the noise of the exhaust has been and still is illegal. However, just not really enforced too often (obviously). Same law applies to motorcycles too, and look how many of them have exhaust mods.

Like I always say, nothing is illegal until you get caught. However, there is an interesting exception to that particular subsection if you go look it up and read it, depending on your vehicle year

I got a ticket 4 1/2 years ago for my exhaust being to loud. That was in an N/A FC with N1's and a bonez race pipe. I got it thrown out though because the cop didn't file it correctly. It really sucked having to go through that though.

i posted about this over two months ago. The law has changed to any exhaust modified louder than stock as being illegal. And washington had the 92db clause until last summer. There are defences to tickets though. For example you could say your car was modified under the 92db clause before the law changed.

by the way here is the thread https://www.rx7club.com/nw-rx-7-forum-33/washington-car-owners-could-affect-you-632872/ that I had from when i was pulled over for my exhaust. It states the new law and what it used to be and what not. There was a big discussion about it on northwest nissans as well

Mill Creek, another city with no need of a police force. The sheriff is right there for **** sake. Hell they even have the AFT (bomb squad)

I live outside of Brier, 7k people, 4 sqare miles, 1 library, 5 businesses, 3 payphones, one of which is in front of the police station, no post office, and they have 4 cops on a friday night.

Small towns have cops for only one reason MONEY, they prey on younger people, because they can't afford to get the lawyers to fight it. They can ticket you for anything they want. You are required to have a litter bag for ***** sake!!!!! Noise laws make no ******* any way, at they cant measure the volume from the exhaust, and even if they do what is the legal limit for dbs? Now Harleys don't count for some reason even though they are WAY louder then my racing beats. OH and headers on a sweet 64 impala, nope, unless of corrse it is a beater driven my a young kid.

Trafic cops and ****** have the same job!

I just realized this but when you run your car through emissions and I am not sure if all of you qualify for this. but in the emissions test they run a decibal test. If you have good tags on your car, the cop is just harassing you, they run a decibal test and if your car is too loud you wont pass the emissions test. I know that for sure if oregon cause i do have a louder exhaust then stock. i know that washington used to but i am not sure if they are still running that test or not. just something to think about
