Thumbs down Drove a FC today....

Drove a 1990 N/A convertible today. Its black with 120K with good exterior and interior. Clean engine. It got traded in at our dealership and its the first 7 that I've ever seen in the year and a half for sale on the lot. They're asking $2500. No smoke on startup or anything.

Point is.....ITS SSSSSLLLLOOOOOWWWWW! Are all FC's like this???? lol

Wanted to see if the S5 is faster or what with lighter rotors and whatnot....either the weight gain from FB to FC is humungous or it just sucked.

Verts are very heavy. Almost 1000 lbs more than my '86 base model. My FC when it was NA was a bit faster than my old FB. With the turbo, there is no argument

i've not driven a NA FC... in fact the first NA rotary i ever drove was my repu, and the 2nd being my current FB... that being said, i know that the verts were a lot heavier than the coupes, and i know that an auto FC will run 18's in the 1/4 when stock(saw it at the strip a while back)...

From the John Matras RX-7 book:
'89 Vert 3,045 lbs (3105 with auto)
'86 2+2 5-speed 2,625 lbs (alright, 1000 lbs was a overestimate)
'84 GSL-SE 2,590 lbs
'79 2,420
'93 R1 2,800

hey, my vert feels faster than the low mile (less than 100K) 85 gsl i test drove last fall....
after chasing kettleman all over, i was disapointed in the 12A's apparent lack of hp, but then again, i didn't turn it to 10K!!!!
