So i would love to gloat about the car, but i have discovered some spots that need redone, as we are both wanting it done right, we are saving it till later to finish, its going to roll around a little orange peely and with the couple blemishes till the weather gives us a little better chance at shooting. This also makes it possible for us to take it to the meet...
HOWEVER, i am a little nervous about opinions and comments that might be had about it... So PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE keep in mind its not done, i see what i messed up on, and it will be fixed, i posted this up for chris and am a little (ok really) self concious about my work.... I am not a pro, i am a person who enjoys it, and so its not CHIP FOOSE work... But i tried my best and tried to save him as much as io could without cutting corners to get it done.. So be easy on me guys, the pics are flattering

Nice work Joe. Anyone that critisizes it has obviously never tried to spray a car. If it were easy everyone would do it! Good news is, you'll get smoother with every time. "PRO" only means experienced, you don't get that without actually doing something. Few people here could do what you've done and do it right. Kudos on a good job! Strive for perfection, just don't always expext it.
It's on the street!!
YES, Joe is paranoid about the car's paint. We made a gamble the last shoot and lost
We maintained temperature, but, the downpour outside affected humidity noticeably.
I think we’re both a little tired of fighting the elements and working around freezing temperatures. We’ll finish it up in a couple months when we have more predictable weather… until than? I will be the widebody screaming around Corvallis with excessive tire smoke... sounding like a pissed off lawnmower (with a turbo) …

now If i had a turbo mower I'd be mowing every day. my car sounds like a lawn mower cause the cracked turbo manifold. cant even hear turbo, I just see boost on the gauge, and psst when I shift.

Even if it's a cast manifold... preheat and TIG... lol, not that I have or could afford a TIG welder
nice widebody there joe what kinda work have you done to the t2 motor? im still deciding on what setup to go for on my repu taking my time learing compressor maps lol.
cheers

its a recient rebuild, not sure what has really been done to it, cant remember what he said about it,lol. But the compression checked out good and it looks beautifull! You cant go Jport with your repu, i got some irons, lol
well its more than 1 crack and I don't need a tig welder I just need a stick welder with cast electrods. I've welded cast before. you must pre heat and post heat to avoid cracking. but I still don't have a welder, and I stupidly removed my twin scroll, witch can't be replaced. so when I do get to weld it back up. it will be going on the FB eventually. I can't have my car down for more than a few hours since its my daily driver. The FB needs some work to be drivable again. the rear end is just about toast. but soon welded 4.77 gears in a big axle open diff. no more 1 wheel peels. I've got a new one on the way, as long as that guys timely with the shipping. I'm hoping to get it tomarrow. maybe get it installed friday, so I can actually be proud of my T2
