Well, after a certain point, it should level off..... But that's usually long before it's time to shift, unless you shift really low (which I doubt )or you have a larger than normal turbo on there. What kind of a BOV do you have on there? How's your wastegate? How's your turbo? Do you have a boost controller?

Well, I assume you have a 3" downpipe on a stock turbo. There honestly is NO reason to run 3" on the factory turbo. It will always boost creep without major modification to the factory wastegate.

Factory boost pressures:
5.5psi stock Zenki (87-88)
7.5psi stock Kouki (89-90

Yep, 3" exhaust and stock turbo boost creep is bad... fix it or BOOM!...

Port the crap out of it and its manageable. Go huge and weld on a new flapper and you wont get any...

Its not too hard to port that. I could do it if I had a welder, and die grinder. I have a dremel, but that would take hours and hours. You can buy an already ported one from somewhere. I'll see if I can find them again.

Its a full 3-inch downpipe and exhaust, manual boost controller, on the stock turbo. He used to boost to forteen and loved it, then after we put thegreddy and then the other bov on the boost pressures went down, so hes mad now. I believe It levels off at ten in some gears and lower in others. He wants more boost and i told him bad idea.....

FYI: RTEK 1.x retards timing 1 degree per psi above 9psi, so that does help. I had a 1.5 chip and a 1-2 degree retarded base timing (cas adj.) and overboosted to like 15psi a few times, but I knew it was dangerous...

at least as big as the hole the whole way through. or else it will just bottlekneck and cause restriction. you woulnd't run a 4"to a stock catback. thats why with a dremel it would take hours, and hours.
