I'm in Snohomish County, but Papa John's is the **** for pizza! But I gotta ask....what was that **** where the founder paid $250k to get his ratty old Camaro back? I thought it was pretty ****** arrogant "Ha, Ha! Look at me! I can afford to pay 100 times what this car is worth." Give me a break. I could have found a much nicer ride than a 71 Camaro for $250k..and it wasn't even fixed up at all. What a schmuck!

Who cares they were cops, Because they were cops does that make it worse. People die and are killed every day. I just don't get why there death is more important than any of ours. they sould just say 4 people where shot not 4 cops.

But other than that its great that there doing something to help the families. I empathize with them.

the fact that they were cop's isnt the entire issue here. there are many factores that have add'd to the hype of the situation, especially out here in the area that the insident happened

yeah they are normal people...but they put themselve out on the line in harms way. to protect the people, it sucks and was tragic, tragic enough that i heard it where i'm at now. would you do that job? if you knew somebody would walk into a coffee shop and serve everybody at your table a .45 round? just because of the uniform you wear. i despise inconsiderate people, and your one of those people right now. what if one of your family member was there? would you be saying they're just cops then? i think not. try not to post your ignorance all over the ******* forum and limit it to this one event. thanks

Although I don't agree with his entire statement he's not ignorant, Zach. He's stating a perfectly reasonable opinion. For example, that same day the officers were killed a drunk driver killed 4 people just miles from my house and walked out of the hospital in handcuffs with no remorse and not a scratch on him... Yet it didn't even make the LOCAL paper (my sister is an ER nurse and treated his passenger who also walked away with a couple minor scratches and just kept saying "I told him he was driving too fast"). I understand it's hyped more due to the fact they are cops and were on shift and were killed in cold blood, but that IS the only reason it receives so much publicity. Just like all you soldiers when you lose a comrade. But they overshadow the other people living normal lives and it's disrespectful to those families.

Yes, the Maurice Clemons issue was dealt with extremely poor and I can only imagine how many others like him are still walking the streets because of how easy it is to beat the system.

This was a very tragic event and I would not wish this on anyone and I support those families because I heave family in law enforcement, but I also support the families of everyone else who has lost a family member in tragic events.

The REAL problem is the media. They report what they want to and make everything into a larger deal than it should be to create widespread panic and control the American people.

But back on topic, I think the OP's idea of a pizza meet is a great idea. I think a multi-forum meet would be awesome. Can't say I'd be able to attend but if you want to make it happen, you better set the time and date NOW

Thats exactly what I meant. I'm not the biggest fan of cops. But I don't wish ill upon anyone who is a cop. and Yes I would do that job if I were allowed too. Carry a pistol and drive like a maniac, I could get into that. But bottom line is almost all cops abuse the power, not all but allot. I would probably abuse the power too. fact is people get jaded. All I was saying is yes its tragic that that happened but would of been just as tragic if they were not cops.

I have to disagree here. The entire reason this got so much attention by the media is because they were cops. In all probability the shooter did it because they were cops. Where I come from cops are suppose to be a "symbol" of law and order and for these people to be executed, for lack of a better term, just because they were cops is a clear sign of how fucked up our society has become. I think the media should report things like this and I think it's every Americans responsibility to try to end this kind of bullshit. If they'll gun down a cop they'll gun down your family without even thinking about it. Do cops abuse their power? Sure some do, but so do politicians and lawyers and bankers and anybody else who thinks they can get away with it. The difference is politicians and lawyers and bankers do it for financial gain whereas a cop might do it because it's hard not to slam some belligerent ******* when he's acting like a fool after he did something he shouldn't have done in the first place. Cops have no way of knowing who has a gun and who doesn't. If a cop stops you and you get belligerent I think that cop has got every right to do whatever he feels necessary to remove the element of danger...period. I can tell you from experience you treat them with respect and they will do the same in return. If they don't you report them. You don't act a fool and you don't take matters into your own hands. If you do you will lose...and I will not feel one bit sorry for you. Next thing you know people are going to be saying our soldiers and marines don't deserve any special recognition when they are killed protecting your dumb *** (not directed at anyone in particular) because they knew the risk and volunteered anyway. You all talk about how it shouldn't matter they were cops... I'll bet no one on this forum even knows the names of the 4 officers without going to look it up.

Whoa...that was deep. Back to the pizza thing...I'm laid up recovering from surgery. Can't eat solid food so pizza is out for me but if anyone is going to organize a collection I'd be game to drop a few bucks in the hat.

well said, my feeling exactly. and back to the pizza thing. if there is a donation set up from the forum let me know the link and i'll gladly contribute to the cause. wish i could be there for all the clubs outings, but unfortunatly, iraq has my full attention at the moment. and the FD is currently acting out, so she's in a time out for awhile.
