Walbro TI automotive
Need help guys. Recently had work done to my fd and was experiencing blown fuel pump relays. I was extremely worried after noticing the relays heating up tremendously. I pulled the pumps and found what looks to be counterfeit TI automotive fuel pumps model F90000267 450lph. According to walbro the authentic pumps look nothing like mine. I will attach pictures below. I need help guys so please give me your opinions
This is the authentic pump off walbro/TI automotive websites.

Well, from reading here there are a lot of Chinese fakes out there in all kinds of things, including fuel pumps. Other than that, what do you need help with? If it were me, I'd confirm what my fuel needs were for the car and get that junk replaced ASAP with something from a trusted shop, like any of the authorized vendors of this forum.

The sad part is that pumps were put in by a rotary shop here in chicago about a month ago. Now everything is under warranty thus far. But when i presented the idea that pumps were fake to the shop owner he swore he buys from a reputable distributor. Highly doubt that at this point. So i figured i cut the b.s and swap out pumps myself. Now this is were i need help. I understand the very own power wires going to the pumps should not heat up but they are. So much that their causing fuses to blow. I traced everything back to make sure wires werent crossed and so far so good. Only other thing i could think of is grounds

I think I can guess which shop is responsible.
If you remove the plastic interior panel at the rear of the hatch and look directly below the latch mechanism you should see a grounding block secured by a single 10mm bolt. IIRC that is the ground for the pump.
Not super close but within reasonable distance to you is BANZAI RACING in Pierceton Indiana...if you need pro help sorting it out.

I would say they are probably wired wrong and probably Chinese. Even the partial pics above look like a hack job install. I have no idea what the purpose of the low pressure emissions hose is.
Here is a real 450LPH I install, they all have QR codes.

I already knew who did the crap work. Just letting you know that you are about to have a catastrophic failure of the coolant system, vacuum caps are NOT for use on anything fluid, they are not reinforced. I am sure I can find a dozen more problems if I felt like looking. Look passed the shiny crap.

I have never seen any dyno results. There have been a few people saying they would post OEM REW vs this thing, however I have yet to see anything. This tends to suggest that there is no improvement in performance, otherwise people would be jumping at the chance to say they got XX more power with a bolt on.

Yup ive been ROBBED to say the least!!!! Oh yea i know my freaking overflow has boiled over on the way home from the shop. Seeing that Mr. Coleman built my motor he was screaming foul play when i presented the issue. Im not what you call an expert on rotary engines but i know some and man ill tell you his work is an absolute nightnare. I think its time to expose this fraud! I personally dont think theres any advantages to this intake.

The universal install kits that Walbro supplies for the 450/525 pumps comes with a very specific high pressure E85 submersible flex hose.

Yup did my homework on that, thank you! I just spoke to TI automotive and they in deed agreed that my current pumps are FAKES! They have no barcodes/encrypted code on them. I will purchase authentic 450s and the kit to go with them. Such a disappointment that i have to correct someones elses work that i paid big money for. Thanks alot gentlemen i really do appreciate the help

If it's a reputable shop (which doesn't sound like it is), their work should be warranted. If you paid for Walbros and you didn't get what you paid for, you should take that up with the shop. Hopefully they were duped and did not knowingly rip you off. Regardless, you did not get what you paid for. If they refuse to make it right, then that builds the case that it's not a reputable shop. Avenues of recourse include outing them on this forum (give them the opportunity to make it right.first), BBB, and small claims court.. If you don't hold them accountable by replacing them yourself, you give them free licence to continue this behavior.
