Typical idle issues
I've had my FC for a little over a month now, bought it knowing there was an existing idling issue.
The car runs great, I'm not worried that it'll leave me on the side of the road or anything, but I have some symptoms to describe:
Idle bounces from 600 to 800 rpm (dependent on what the A/C fan is doing).
When parking the car, I usually put it in neutral and roll downhill towards my parking spot (at my apartment), everything sounds fine until I make the turn into the spot and brake... at this point, a number of times the rpm dips either dangerously close to dying or dies.
From what I've read, I should start by checking the BAC valves and cleaning grounds.
I know this sounds similar to everyone's idle problems, just curious if anyone's had the SAME behavior in their RX. I'm going to start attempting to resolve the problem next week with some garage time.

something struck me with your post.
You park on an incline.
I did that with my FC and it had a tendency to not start sometimes due to the angle of the car.I'd roll it to a flat "surface" and Boom..start right up.
I just wanted to mention that.Keep the fuel in the tank UP so it can alleviate that problem.

Does your car have power steering? If your car has the electric sunroof then before rolling into your parking space keep the car in gear w/the brakes depressed and try opening the electric sunroof while focusing on the tach and see if it moves a bit when you are depressing the sunroof button to open it and then pull your hand off the button and see if the rpm rises a bit. If so, then your charging sytem is a bit too weak, which can affect the idle and cause some bogging down of the engine. Just a thought.

It has the electric sunroof, which is weak to begin with (have to assist it in popping up while pressing the button). I'll check into this behavior and see if it is the charging system.

While I haven't done a whole lot of investigating yet, today I noticed (checking at each stop light into work) that turning my wheel while idling the rpm would drop. So I'm guessing that implies an electrical issue - any thoughts/tips on that?

You can check the voltage output of the alternator while idling and wheels straight versus idling and wheels turned and compare your results. The large Black cable bolted to the side of the alternator is your output wire. And if you have power steering then it places load on the engine and slows down the rpm a bit which is a bit normal unless it drops down too much but a properly working BAC should prevent this from happening.

I had a similar issue and after replacing hoses and spark plugs it runs and idles like a champ now. It seemed too obvious to me to be the spark plugs but I think that's what did it. Hope this helps, good luck!
