T2 RX7 No start, fresh rebuild, Link ECU
Hey guys,
I've just put a link ecu in the car but can't seem to get it started.
- Have spark
- definitely fuel there
- Just adjusted timing with a timing light - set manually then changed offset in ecu
- tried de-flooding procedures
spent days googling and trying options with no luck, cranks forever without even a pop.
Any ideas?
Cheers

You may have fuel at the front of the injector, but not after the injector.
I recommend:
Pour some lacquer thinner, about 2 ounces into the intake, just like into the power brake port, or even into the throttles. If the car fires up, or does ANYTHING good, then you know you have spark, air, and semi-correct timing.
If not, then you -may- be getting fuel, but wrong timing.

-there is a strong fuel smell out the exhaust, even if you crank it with the fuel pump only plugged in for a few seconds.
The plugs are new so shouldn't be the problem.
put the stock main pulley on the engine to set timing, although I'm not sure whether this is from S4 or S5 , supposedly the engine is S5. Then adjusted the offset in the ECU using a timing light until was close.
So still pretty stuck
I would do a compression test even though it's a fresh rebuild. And you have spark at all 4 plugs? Are all your grounds properly attached? And the way to tell the s4 from s5 is the water pump housing. 3 bolt s5 2 bolt s4 at the thermostat
