FL sputters

well still trying to figure out whats going on with my 89 rx7 last night it was sputtering and stalling at slowing speed this morning put some seafoam additive in the gas took out on Interstate 275 got up to 140 mph no problem got off into traffic then alittle sputtering buy it didnt stall gonna drive it and run that gas through then the next thing mabe a fuel filter (cant imagine they didnt chang it when they did the rebuild) will keek you updated

It's from 1989, so it's a S5 RX7. And he doesn't say anywhere that it's a N/A. So what's the big deal?

Im sure if you had a couple miles of straight and good engine, you could hit 140.
The N/A is aero limited at about 135 in 5th.

Ive herd you can get up to 140, if you redline 4th though.
Never done it my self but I have heard of verts even topping out 4th gear.

These are stock figures, Apparently you can get it a little higher by running a full exhaust with no cats.

well it was like 130 or a little higher

it did but now after running a bit it started going from 700rpms to 500 then back up to 700 just started doing that after i took it out on the interstate and blow it out

Well, if you are able to put a video about that car's behaviour, that would help us to help you. But with the information you are giving, I would say your car need's a TPS adjustment or something in that line.

well i tighten some loose grounds got rid of the sputter,stalling, idle problem. but now at about 4000rpms it hits a wall

its a non turbo fixed that problem by tighting some loose grounds but now i cant get over 4000 rpms

Hum... That should be something else, and I can't imagine what. I think it's better if you wait for the answer of someone more experienced in this.
Also check the FAQ section for the 2nd gen, maybe you can find you answer there.

found a great artical at www.aaroncake.net/rx-7/grounding.htm type it in manually

im gonna do the 4 the ground to the shock tower and starter the ground block and ECU ground if i dont have to take the intake off if i do ill have to wait till i get a gasket

FL Solved Sputters-Stalles and Hesitation

Well a while back my 89 rx7 was sputtering,stalling and hesitating at 3500 I checked grounds and sensors but nothing Then I check my fuel pump (whitck I was told was new) There was the problem all along The pump was all orange and rusty tank Got a clean tank, filter and new Walbro pump Runs Great Soif you ar having these problems I would start there first
