It's from 1989, so it's a S5 RX7. And he doesn't say anywhere that it's a N/A. So what's the big deal?

Im sure if you had a couple miles of straight and good engine, you could hit 140.
The N/A is aero limited at about 135 in 5th.

Ive herd you can get up to 140, if you redline 4th though.
Never done it my self but I have heard of verts even topping out 4th gear.

These are stock figures, Apparently you can get it a little higher by running a full exhaust with no cats.

it did but now after running a bit it started going from 700rpms to 500 then back up to 700 just started doing that after i took it out on the interstate and blow it out

Well, if you are able to put a video about that car's behaviour, that would help us to help you. But with the information you are giving, I would say your car need's a TPS adjustment or something in that line.

well i tighten some loose grounds got rid of the sputter, stalling, idle problem. but now at about 4000rpms it hits a wall

rsantaniello 04-11-12 10:33 PM

its a non turbo fixed that problem by tighting some loose grounds but now i cant get over 4000 rpms

Hum... That should be something else, and I can't imagine what. I think it's better if you wait for the answer of someone more experienced in this.
Also check the FAQ section for the 2nd gen, maybe you can find you answer there.

Good luck!
